Saban has moved on to 2012 people. He's targeting Barry Sanders, Jr. Croom coached Barry Sanders, Sr. at Detroit and reportedly is still close to him and the boy. Croom can bring Sanders, Jr. to Tuscaloosa. Nothing to do with coaching.

Your running backs coach and wide receivers coach are going to be recruiters/legacies. Arguably the two easiest positions on the field scheme/skill wise.

Saban must have a RB coach that he really likes, is a really good recruiter, or is just really good, because it would make more sense to me as an outsider to hire Croom as a RB coach- especially if he's going after Barry Sanders, Jr.

And especially since our WR's under Croom did jack. I honestly thought that was one of the worst coached units on the team when Croom was here. They just seemed really sloppy with their route running and were never consistent catching the ball.
