Akron was WAY over-matched! Zips were a lot better when Huggins coached them. WVU had doubled the score midway through 2nd half then got lazy and slacked off because they knew they could do what they wanted against the out-of-their-league Zips. Plus, Huggins tried a zillion combinations of 5s on the floor. Mainly to get film to thrown in their face for motivation. WVU too quick, too muscular, sharper shooting. Like high school seniors against 7th graders. Only an exhibition. Really, a scrimmage. Saw a lot of potential. But Huggins will have to keep them in high gear from opening tipoff to final buzzer. Could be an excellent season if players improve performance more and more with Huggins cracking the whip.

This game truly tells us nothing about this team but I did enjoy watching WVU bball.
I thought it told a couple things:

1. I think the capability is there to play full-court again AND defend the rim with those transfers in the middle
2. If Taz is making shots, we win.......if not, we probably won't.......when he went out of the game we struggled to find that scorer.

There are several shooters on this team. If Taz has an off night he will still score double digits. The big drop off will be defensive rebounds. This team is capable of being the best in sometime for Huggins.

Akron has been a great basketball school for many years. Not just under Huggins. They are known more for basketball than football.
