I think Perkins is leaning toward OU and now with Culpepper committing to Penn St, Carson is the guy left on the board that fits.

Just my opinion

Perkins was in Seward but didn't make it to Lincoln. I would bet that if Perkins or any other member of that high school team wanted to stop off for a quick visit to UNL, it could have been arranged. To the best of my knowledge. Perkins hasn't been to Lincoln yet.

I haven't seen anything indicated Perkins has much interest in NU. I would think, even if there wasn't a current committable offer for him at the time, the staff would still be happy to have him for a UOV.

Gotta hand it to Penn State, their recruiting is way better than it should be all "things" considered, which I won't mention.
I know what you mean but I honestly don't think most players care about that at all. I really don't. Just like you hear stories about how racist some schools/areas are yet they have no problem getting kids.

That's because the bar has been set so low to be considered a racist anymore, that word doen't have the same juice it used to.

Exactly. See the other thread about Missouri, or rather, the article linked in it. The compass is barren due to all the racial tension mess, yet they are recruiting just fine. These kids just want to play, and maybe make a shot at the pros. Few could give a crap about accusations, unless it might affect their ability to play and/or win.

We had three on deck. Culpepper, Carson, Perkins.

Carson/Culpepper the two most likely.
That's what I thought. As I said above, there wasn't a lot of apparent interest (that I could see) from Perkins, so I really wasn't counting him.

Any ideas on what direction they take if we get none of those 3?

Wade was orinally looked at as a possibility as a Boundary OLB but it appears that he is now being looked at as a DE...that said, Carson has been and continues to be #1 on the DE board.
