Ya, put me in the latter. Once "global warming, er..climate Change" started being the reason too move major amounts of wealth around the globe, I became more circumspect.

Just a couple of major eyebrow raisers:

Changing the name to encompass any environmental irregularity is very convenient.
The left's specific climate predictions have been mostly wrong for literally decades.
Any excuse leaders use to funnel major money around while denouncing any dessent as evil is a tell to me.

I would assume humans have an impact and we have a chance to slow fires specifically by forrest management. I believe the article you posted showed over 60% of Colorado's Forrests are still in need of maintenance. I think people would question the left's motives less if this is where they spent their efforts, but it is not. The left showed how little they care about Mother Earth when they cut sharper than Barry Sanders on Tesla.

I agree with a lot of what you said, especially the part about spending $. Again, I've said we focus on the wrong things, I think the Dems are more guilty of that.

But it's undeniably getting warmer in a lot of environmentally vulnerable areas, with a lot more people than we used to have living in those areas.

I will watch fewer NFL games this year. Goodell is a moron for keeping this crap going. Add in the feminine male cheerleaders, as opposed to strong males used for stunting and running flags around the stadium. Interesting thread.

This was another squishy concern recently. I’m blessed to not like or need coffee like the zombies I see lined up at Starbucks every morning - all concerned about “Climate Change” as they idle their lazy butts through the lengthy drive thru line

Between 1924-1933, Dallas had one year with over 100 days above 90.

In the last 10 years, Dallas had one year with less than 100 days above 90.
from 1907-1916 it had 0 years with less than 100 90 degree days and a lot less concrete than it has had over the last ten years (same link).

The record for the most 90 degree days in Champaign IL is 56, set in 1936, tied in 1954 and again in 1988. None of the last 16 years has even cracked the top 10 years with the most 90 degree days in CU, Only 4 made the top 20. 9 of the top 20 occurred before 1940. I picked CU because most of us are familiar with it and it's not a place that grew massively in population over the last 50 years.

Cool site!

Not a bad move on your part. The rapid population growth definitely has an impact. I wish both sides would talk about this and other variables that actually matter.

Middle America has always, and always will be, less vulnerable to severe weather and changes. It made it a great place to settle down, grow food, and raise a family.

Middle America has always, and always will be, less vulnerable to severe weather and changes. It made it a great place to settle down. People moved to more vulnerable places and live the same way. There are things for all of us to learn.
Every workday every summer for 22 years in Alabama I drove through downtown of a medium-sized city and within 4 miles was driving through farm fields, I casually noted temperature drops as high a 8 degrees heading out of town. More common was 3-5 degrees.

I have a summer place in remote NE Minnesota. The record high at the nearest long-operating station, about 40 miles away was 1901, 105F. The record for cold, -60F is from 1996. It's in Superior National Forest so wildfires are a thing. 9 of the 10 largest fires here occurred prior to 1919.

The biggest problem is we only have a couple hundred years of data at best. There is evidence in the paleo record that a pattern of recurring multi-decade droughts, some as long as 70-90 years, have occurred in the Western US, for example.

Here in the Midwest people try to count tornadoes and floods and snowfall to convince us to eat bugs and ditch our racist single-family homes. (I never considered the upper Midwest an area less vulnerable to severe weather than others.

Stats of weather can be cherry-picked all day to make any argument a person wants.

I think the effects of atmospheric carbon are at worst a very distant threat to humanity. Our industrial farming practices are probably the most clear and present danger (I realize that's a fringe position, but I'll own it). We're steadily sterilizing the soil. The most activist thing thing I've probably done is to buy regeneratively-raised meat and produce every chance I get. Can't quite get to 100%, but get a little closer every year. Expensive though.

Keep in mind, we all know that Goodell tried to keep CTE a secret. Depending on the season, the NFL is hovering around 70% of the players being black. If Goodell were a Republican, he most certainly would have been fired and potentially prosecuted. He is a white liberal so he is handed a fat raise and a long term contract. Him throwing social justice signs in our face with his history would be akin to Putin lecturing on Ukrainian human rights.

But, man is having an impact. Aren’t you curious?? Squish, squish, squish through the again above average ice layer which was supposed to be all gone!

It’s almost as if the Earth did some weird stuff, had climate change, lost of volcanic activity, reached a quiet stage, had ice ages and Illinois was tropical well before man ever existed on the planet.

They will try to get away with it until people are sick of it. It’s like the morons who flamed the little kid dressed up as the Kansas City Chiefs and he had actual indigenous peoples’ blood in him unlike Pocahontas. Are you sure Goodell is a lib and not just a shape shifting Republican lawyer? He did marry a Fox News Beauty many years ago.

I guess it was anyone’s imagination. I’ve been hoping for this. Go after the people that were trafficking weapons and drugs, and terrorizing people. Bad hombres.

Both sides are talking about it. The right knows the left is full of crap and the left wants to control everyone’s life.

The bigger question is why are you talking about it since you don’t have a side?

MOD:

Predictably, President Trump is taking heat because his meeting with Putin did not lead to concrete progress on Ukraine. The ideological crazies have no blankin' idea how difficult ending this war will be and, to be very accurate, Mr. Trump seemingly underestimated Putin's evil. Bad Vlad likes to inflict pain and suffering. He enjoys that.

At this point, the civilized world wants Putin to stop the fighting. So, the dictator holds the power card in negotiations. It is not "equal footing" with President Trump. Putin is the power player because only he can stop the madness.

If the USA and Europe decide to wage economic warfare on Russia, the scenario changes. But aggressive action against a psychopath can be dangerous.

Finally, if Kamala Harris had been elected none of this would be happening. She would have continued the Biden policy of pumping billions into Ukraine and standing on the sidelines. I can't even picture Ms. Harris negotiating face-to-face with evil Vlad.

He said they are paid to express their opinions, not to foment riots and violence like BS AMUSE claimed.
He does not claim they are violent. Everyone knows a large excited crowd can draw anarchists or even people that do things they normally wouldn't do. Btw, did you expect the CEO to claim he is paying people to break the law?

She’s an idiot, if that’s what she thinks. Twinkle toes took the spot of a woman. It’s apparent you and Tomi don’t know the difference between a male cheerleader who is there to be the base of a stunt, yell in a megaphone and run around the stadium with giant flags using his gift of strength versus a very feminine male who couldn’t lift a 100 lb girl. The former has been doing what I described for eons. Nobody cares about the former.
