When someone is ignored their likes/laughs/loves emojis are still seen. Once again you address something of which you don’t know. That appears to be your SOP.
So you saw I laughed at your stupid Scott Baio post. Scrolled down to see ignored posts. Looked for my post. Then came up with the dumb emoji joke.

That’s even more hilarious. Keep up the good fight! We love your algorithm!

Love conquers all !

Taylor and Travis announce their engagement after dating for about 2 years !

Fans are ecstatic !

It's nice, but I still can't think of one of "her" songs ?
Bad Blood, Style, Picture to Burn, Teardrops on My Guitar, Look What You Made Me Do, Part of Me (with lead singer from Panic at the Disco, IIRC). Those are off the top of my head. I could look up my play list I have of her music. Her last couple of albums have been somewhat boring. She is an excellent entertainer. She has burned through a lot of relationships and used them for songs. I wasn’t thrilled she came out as a Democrat, but frankly, if Kelce is the one that rocks her world, I am happy for both of them and wish them a a long and successful/fulfilling life together. I’m not a “Swifty”, but I don’t get the anymosity towards her. She isn’t directing the football production crew to put a camera on her every 5 minutes. Yes. Love does concur all.

You can always start your own thread to find out how important your opining is to other posters. I’m guessing it’s about zero.

Lutnik/Trump allowing 600k Chinese students in so that they fill the good universities and your kids fill the bad ones. America First!
Your algorithm is late as usual. Already posted on previous page. Look up Ingram interview of Lutnick.

As for the topic at hand, while I would like to see quite a few less Chinese students, using Illinois schools as an example, the state doesn’t fund the state schools anywhere near what they used to do. They should cut departments with useless degrees, cut overhead, but that isn’t something that is easy to accomplish in the academic world. AFAIK foreign students pay more money for tuition than in state, so that is why many of these schools stay afloat and happily take foreign students. The answer to the issue isn’t easy, but they should be warning the university system that they need to start filtering out the Chinese students so the schools have a softer landing in a few years.

Train says the improvement is not impressive. Twenty six percent seems impressive despite Train’s Senate Rs continued inclusion of massive pork

I literally stated in the last week that the $4T over 10 years projection seemed reasonable to me ($400B/year). The current budget deficit with about 5 weeks to go on FY 2025 is $1.63T. If one is generous, it looks like the deficit will be down by $150-$175B from FY 2024.

That is roughly 10% improvement, but it changes nothing about the fiscal ship of fools.

Let's see where it ends up.

We do agree that your Republicans in Congress are fiscally irresponsible.

Look ... I don't trust the Chinese government any more than you. But the continued overlap between the US and China very much tamps down the possibility of a great power conflict AND a bunch of these people stay in the US and are often highly productive.

To me, the 600K Chinese students is a fake issue. Universities just have to be wary of espionage (as do a number of corporations).

Me personally, I think Trump is much worse on this front than the average GOP Congressmen (who is also not good enough). It was Trump laying on the Chip Roys of the world to pass BBB.

The tax cut was needed, so were a bunch more spending cuts.

Trump would sign whatever they give him is the point. Congress is pretty much terrible across the board.

The next governor of Arizona (Biggs) will transform Arizona into a much better state.

This is the type of investigative research that people want. Speaks to the local issues around crime. The system has repeatedly put very dangerous criminals back on the streets. Not surprisingly, many continue committing violent crime.

You could be right about the intertwining being a safety blanket for conflict. There do need to be limits on access for them at the universities/research institutions. It’s financially alarming that we need 600k of these students or we would have serious issues with the solvency of some of our directionals, as an example. It’s a complex issue.

I am sure Chinese nationals are propping up a few schools, but it’s undeniable that most of the reason they come is because American universities are the class of the world (Britain has some great ones too but is just a much smaller country).

So what you’re saying is we just need to let the Democrats continue to ruin our education system and eventually our collegiate system is in the dumps! No foreigners will want to come study at US universities. Problem solved!

I keed! I keed! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Until these blue cities start to turn at least purple, I doubt they will care what this nice lady thinks, along with her demographic. But…if in fact they lose Black females, the Dem Party is toast.

I don't think the budget is a short term fix. Sadly, it appears the only way our congress can pass anything is with favors and pork.

Do you believe WordSalad would have it balanced by now?

A lot of people really don't understand the risk of allowing Chinese students to attend American universities. Nothing whatsoever against the kids. They are simply pawns. But the CCP is far more calculating and devious than people think, and I would include President Trump in that category of being naive. He doesn't have much of an excuse given the information he is provided by the State Department and intelligence community.

I suppose the naivety comes from living here in the U.S., which despite our problems is a relatively normal country. People don't understand how the CCP operates and how deep their malice goes.

Nearly all of the Chinese students and their families have direct ties to the party. They are forced to provide the government with any useful information they gather while here in the U.S. China plays the long game, while the U.S. worries more about the economics and continuing the failed policy of engagement with China.

100 percent. I haven’t seen a single Trump supporter say yeah, good idea. It is quite the opposite, absolutely terrible.

The Choice Is Yours comes to mind with this post.

I don't know much about Taylor Swift except she has had lots of relationships with show business types and they didn't work out. She is now 35 and if she ever wants a family she needs to get on with it.

He was the one pursuing her, so he did make his choice. I hope it works out.

Too little too late? Interesting to watch.

Sydney S in cutoff jeans as the new waitress costume would do wonders for male traffic and sales.

Corporate gift of local gym memberships to size 14 or higher waitresses.

Not a current event, but how does Nolan Ryan own everything except a CY award? That’s crazy to think about.

The WOK people would argue ( IF they followed any sport !)

The Fed 🤦‍♂️

Global rate spreads underscore just how out of touch the Fed is with the rest of the world. The European Central Bank’s deposit facility sits at 2%. The Bank of Japan holds near 0.5%. China runs its seven-day repo at 1.4%. Against that backdrop, the Fed’s 4.25%–4.50% target range remains a glaring outlier – more than 200 basis points above Europe, nearly 400 above Japan, and triple China.

The result: the U.S. economy combines the world’s highest policy rates and mortgage rates with the world’s strongest currency – a triple hit to American exporters.

  • Financing disadvantage: American manufacturers pay more to borrow, making new plants and equipment costlier.
  • Currency distortion: Elevated Fed rates keep the dollar over-priced, inflating the price of U.S. exports while giving foreign competitors a pricing edge.
  • Market share erosion: Foreign rivals win contracts not because they innovate, but because they borrow cheaply and undercut U.S. prices.
On the home front, the Powell squeeze is just as punishing. Average 30-year fixed mortgage rates remain stuck in the 6–7% range, double pre-pandemic levels. That locks millions of young families out of the housing market and stalls residential construction — historically one of the most powerful engines of U.S. recoveries.

Ugh..

This happened in Canada. Get them off the roads!

A NJSP Trooper I knew was a hawk on truckers on the NJ Turnpike !
He would issue 400 + tickets a month ( the average Turnpike Trooper was 25 - 40.) !

In addition, part of the ticket was a form that was mailed to the trucking company, notifying them of the violation. (Usually speeding.)
