Oh here is that “most authoritarian President ever” not doing anything that other Presidents/admins have done in the past.

The headline is stupid but Trump appears to realize that Putin is POS. Giving credit to Trump for possibly providing more support to Ukraine that Biden did. Good more DJT!
Trump is in a negotiation to end the war. Since Putin is not cooperating, Trump is forced to use economic and military (arm Ukraine via NATO) measures to coerce cooperation. Russian leadership for the last 90 years has a high tolerance for Russian casualties, so a tough nut to crack.

At some point the Russian economy is going to tank even more. 47 Admin can help that one happen.

When Russia first invaded Ukraine if Biden Admin had turned the screws on oil the Russian economy would have been close to collapse. Now they have China and India to buy their oil, so we don't have that arrow in the quiver anymore. However, I think Trump is pressuring India so he may be cutting that off.

But China seems to not care and if anything is supporting Russia's invasion. They are a tough one to deal with.

The saving grace there is the Chinese economy is a dumpster fire currently AFAIK. Yes. Trump has worked India to buy somewhere else/US.

Somehow, I don’t think it’s a lot…but could be some. What would Pritzker need the money for? He was a nut job before he moved to Illinois. All over the world at the same time the same thing happening? It’s controlled/pushed from a common source somewhere. Weird.

RE: Education. Here is an article about how the State of Mississippi started in 2013 to revamp their early education system to improve reading for all students. In 2013 they ranked 50th out of 50 states in reading ability at the 4th grade level and now they are 6th. And it was paid for by state funds, not a Department of Education grant.

The article explains how they did it with standardized testing 3 times a year, reading coaches, a statewide common approach to teaching phonics and reading and then classroom support for low performing students. But the other thing, which I think is important, is they didn't just pass kids for social reasons like so many liberals want to do. "Standardized tests are racist, they make kids feel bad, etc." Mississippi assessed actual capabilities and then applied resources to help students succeed, not just pass them forward.

I wonder why the teacher's unions are so opposed to this? Why are liberals? Mississippi has areas of extreme poverty but perhaps not the crime levels of somewhere like Chicago, but still this is remarkable accomplishment in public schools.
