Can they be used for meat ? Are they in over supply there ?
New Jersey has hatcheries that raise pheasants from eggs/chicks in large coops to release in time for pheasant hunting season.
They have pick up trucks with a huge cage in the truck bed to release birds on remote sections of NJ.
One problem is if you are told the roads where released, the birds don't realize they are free for a few hours.
Like spotlight deer jacking, you can do the same with the birds to freeze, until shot or hit over the head with a pipe or hammer.

I do care about elections, and I note that the straight line projection for Rs in those right now is hideous. Plenty of ways to change that, but need to shake the playbook up.
It appears American voters think the economy is bad. Inflation remains at 3% and unemployment looks terrible, but GDP growth is holding up (I expected it to be lower than it looks to be). Voters rate the economy (and tariffs) terribly, Trump about 30% underwater on both. That said, this economy looks a whole lot like Biden’s, with inflation worse and employment better under Old Joe. Trump needs to boost public perception of how things are going, and Vance stated that after Tuesday.
Republicans still have time to turn it around, but the public remains similarly unhappy to the Biden era.
Ostriches used for meat? Yes. One of the issues here of course is part of this herd had avian flu. That flu has been long gone from this group of birds. Some of these birds, if not all, have the antibodies to the avian flu. Those antibodies would be useful for the future and prevention, but instead they just slaughtered them.
Exactly why I don't waste my time with a guy who has been completely and totally wrong with his economic takes. Hell, even you don't believe the crap you spout which is why you bought heavily on the Fake Downturn post-Liberation Day.
