Bandys at Newton-Conover: Both have speed. The Red Devils have about as much speed as I've seen this season. Bandys, on the other hand may have the best quarterback in this area other than Stober from Hickory. If either team plays decent ball for four quarters they will win. Having seen both, my pick is Bandys by 8.

West Lincoln at West Caldwell: The Warriors woes continue. WL by 30.

Lincolnton at East Burke: The last time we went there it took all we had to win (21-17) which came with 2 minutes left in the game. On the night the Wolves had only 95 total yards rushing, East Burke's L. Coble had 93 yards rushing alone. We have to do better on the ground, this time... A bit of a shout out to EB's stadium, a good venue to take in a game...Please Note: Tobacco Products, Hard Beverages, Disorderly Conduct and AMD are are all strictly prohibited... Wolves by 10.

Bunker Hill at Maiden: Flyrod's Game Of The Week...I've seen BH twice and the Devils once, this year. Both looked impressive. The Bears are big and tough, and have the best running back in the conference and one of the best in this area, maybe even the state. He is very elusive. Their defense is mean and comes after you.
Maiden can raise sand, too. Misher is a true to goodness athlete and their quarterback is tough and not afraid; but wait, there's more ! Their line is big and very hard to run through. If anyone can contain Willis in this conference, it might be them. Bears by 7.

Another season gone then comes the one after and after, before you know it you’re enjoying your senior coffee. What’s unique bout this season is we’ve seen hard times very hard times AND we find out what kinda country we’re gonna be in coming soon.

Burkes picks and analysis -

Bandys over Newton- good rivals good game but Bandys prevails. I like a good passing game. New ton may get back to the old days one year.

West Lincoln over West Caldwell- who woulda ever thought in the 80s and 90s that WL would be here stomping WC. A program can fall and one rise hate it for this kids struggling like this in Gamewell.

Lincolnton over East Burke- 2 weeks or so ago I’d say EB can take this in a nail bitter by 1 score. Winnable game for the Cavs but after Minors departure and the injuries and culture looking different I’d have to say this game is going to the Wolves. Prob by 2 scores

Maiden over Bunker Hill- the highest go either way game going on in conference but I favor the blue cause I’m sure they’re gonna shake off the WL upset and the bandys heart attack game and come away good. Maybe I just always pick Maiden unless they’re are playing a powerhouse and I’m bias lol.

When I say powerhouse what comes to mind and what Im referring to is Watauga, Weddington, Mallard Creek, Indy, East Forsyth, . Big number schools like that. Schools that have been around a while with huge winning seasons and student numbers.

Not at all knocking the success of BH or any of the smaller schools

I thought I saw @Lincolnton in Newton this afternoon. I was driving to the gym and this guy in front of me was driving in a way that was causing me some anger issues lol. I go and pass him look over as I'm passing him and it's an older man with his mouth agape, as if he was trying to catch bugs for dinner . For a second I thought is that Lincolnton but then I was like no that's not him. It's too far from the nursing home to late in the day .

Winless teams hurt you more than the win. Our RPI dropped from 15ish to 28 after beating west Caldwell. RPI rewards being successful against successful teams.

LOL, it wasn't me, AMD, been around here all day. Have to say though, that is one of my tactics, the mouth hanging open, etc. Actually, when my car was bought the only thing I looked at was the price and not the color. For a long time I thought it was blue, but Cheerduck told me it is "casket gray".

I already have yes. EB doesn’t have what it takes to beat any Lincoln co school as they have not for a while. They’ve yet to play North Lincoln and this year woulda DEF not been a good time for that lol.

Losing to an undefeated team really doesn't hurt you at all. As your record is a smaller percentage of the overall RPI score than your opponent's record.

Yes for RPI you'd love to schedule a successful team you can beat.

Nchsaa website. Go to fall sports > football > scroll down till you see RPI and select the 2A West option. Hit "submit" and it should populate it.

Same starting quarterback same top fast receiver. A star freshman running back. Think another receivers back from last year. They lost the running back and a linebacker that were good.
