To be fair, you could go to any destination in maybe the world and it would get old after 5-7 days. I don't think that's limited to Omaha, NE.
I do think they give too many tickets to locals, but without that their minor league team probably wouldn't have many season ticket holders.
It could be played in any venue - Citi Field, Turner, Wrigley, Fenway, Dodger - and people would still find a reason or two to complain. If college baseball continues to grow I'm sure someone with a nice minor league stadium and hotel accommodations will bid for the host site in 2035. You would think as an unbiased governing body the NCAA would take the highest bid. Probably won't be the case, though.
