Good morning from sunny Marrakech D-Leaguers. It has been quite a week or so in Morocco. Some crazy chaos in the souks of Fez and Casablanca, a fantastic trek by four-wheeler several miles up and down the sand dunes of the Sahara, some trekking in the Atlas Mountains worthy of the best of the lower Rockies and some fantastic food, especially in this town.
We even got to see the “cobras in the square” referred to by Graham Nash in the 1969 song Marrakech Express. Finally, a personal interest of mine has been fossil collecting since I was a kid. We got to go to the town of Erfoud that is world famous for its Paleozoic fossil mines -yes, it’s an industry here. I didn’t spend a lot, but picked up a nice piece with two lemon-sized trilobites well articulated at a shop our National Geographic guide assured me was legitimate for $40, after some tough negotiating.
Nothing much about the Cats at Madness on rafters. How you fellas feeling about what you saw?
