I have Menieres Disease. STrong fragrances can set off an episode. I was passing out, so they were looking at my heart. Then a neurosurgeon wanted to do brain surgery for a tumor (that wasn't really there). It took 2 years before an ENT finally diagnosed me properaly.
I have it too, mine is not as bad as yours, it still sucks!!!

It was really bad for awhile till they figured out what it was. After passing out, I would wake up vomiting for about 8 hours, most of it dry heaves. Watching my diet has been a big help. I haven't passed out in over 30 years. Occasionally I take meclyzine, but mostly diet. I have some permanent hearing loss from it.

The ringing just drives me bonkers (short drive) just have to put it out of my mind! I take that every once in a while too.

It sounds counterproductive, but staying hydrated helps. There are little hairs in our ears. I forget what they are called. Mine had to much moisture and pretty much rotted away causing hearing loss in some ranges. But drinking enough water helps. Low sodium foods, pretty much the same as a heart healthy diet helps. I love a cold beer, but I might drink one every 10 or 12 years now.

It took longer to diagnose my Dad. Finally the doctor figured it out. He shot steroids in his eardrum and he hasn't had an episode in nearly 2 years. Per the doctor, that is not permanent. Hard for a 90 year old man.

Similar to DW's symptoms & experiences though I'd say she wasn't quite that bad. .

Good morning from ATX. Currently 65°F. Nice out. More 90s on the way. No rain expected for next 10 days.

Talked to daughter on phone as she was driving yesterday. Yes, she drives hands-free. Cougar crossed the road in front of her car on Forge Ridge Rd. near Harrogate, TN. She was probably 1 mile from Cumberland Gap National Park upon seeing the cat. Crazy.

Football not playing this week. Welcome Horns to Commonwealth next week.

Y'all have an amazing Saturday.

No football today and maybe that's a good thing. Looking forward to Big Blue Madness tonight. I still kind of miss Midnight Madness but I understand the change.

3 top 25 games today:

OSU/Illinois
Bama/Mizzou
IU/Oregon

Also, even though Texas dropped out of the rankings the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma should be a hell of a game. Texas fans have got to disappointed. The richest college football program has only produced 4 titles and only 1 in the past 55 years.

Watching IU today, as well as other teams, it's clear to me that having a good CFB team is a matter of admin interest & determination & prioritizing FB. Clearly UK has/does none of that. We are focused elsewhere. Sad to me.

Good morning from sunny Marrakech D-Leaguers. It has been quite a week or so in Morocco. Some crazy chaos in the souks of Fez and Casablanca, a fantastic trek by four-wheeler several miles up and down the sand dunes of the Sahara, some trekking in the Atlas Mountains worthy of the best of the lower Rockies and some fantastic food, especially in this town.

We even got to see the “cobras in the square” referred to by Graham Nash in the 1969 song Marrakech Express. Finally, a personal interest of mine has been fossil collecting since I was a kid. We got to go to the town of Erfoud that is world famous for its Paleozoic fossil mines -yes, it’s an industry here. I didn’t spend a lot, but picked up a nice piece with two lemon-sized trilobites well articulated at a shop our National Geographic guide assured me was legitimate for $40, after some tough negotiating.

Nothing much about the Cats at Madness on rafters. How you fellas feeling about what you saw?

@MdWIldcat55 : Welcome back. Wow, what an awesome journey. Sounds so interesting. Glad y'all had fun.

Madness: Got some stud athletes for this edition. Winning should come natural.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 66°F and clear. We are under shelter-in-place orders. Nearby shootings. Suspects still at large.

Wishing y'all another peaceful Sunday.

Good Sunday morning everyone.

My thoughts after Pro Day and Madness is that shooting just may not be an issue this year after all. I believe Jelevic (he looks to be a solid inch or two taller than Garrison) and especially Lowe will be better shooters than expected. I think Noah, Chandler and Jasper will get more playing time than I originally thought and Moreno will also be better than most thought. All this with our two best players not participating.

It's good that we now have some basketball to watch here in KY.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Played 1 co-ed game yesterday with most of the people pictured above (missing a couple of ladies for picture). Girl on far left as you look at picture was kicked to the curb for fall league as she rarely showed up during spring and summer league. She only showed up once during the league and then for the end of season tourney. We picked up 2 new ladies for fall. The 2 big ladies usually play 1st and catcher. Both very good gloves and can hit, but not much in the speed department. The newer ladies can play outfield fairly well. That picture was from the Lawton OK city league championship. We are now 7-0 in fall league. Still nursing injuries that has cut down my mobility, but I still managed 2-2 and a walk yesterday. Pinch runner did the rest.

Was going to go fishing this morning but rain crept into the forecast so...

You folks enjoy the holiday and relax if you can and God Bless.

Back home in chilly (by comparison) DC. I rocked UK gear from the Kasbah of Marrakech to the souks and Mosques of Fez to RIck's Cafe Americain in Casablanca -- and to the vast Sahara as shown above. (WIth my wife in a mosque in Fez below.)

Hope it is starting out as a good week for you folks.

Austin, best of luck today, and thanks for noting the photos.

Back at my desk in Washington. The real world returns, ready or not. I read some bald speculation that Stoops might be a target of Virginia Tech. Feels more like Elmer Fudd trying to dupe Barney again by showing he has value. But please let him go there or anywhere else outside the Lexington city limits.

Hope you folks are doing well.

Anyone notice the last batter in the Brewers 2-1 loss to the Dodgers last night? Bases loaded, 2 outs. The hitter jumps to get out of the way of a pitch that would have hit him in the leg and tied the game. Then he makes it worse by swinging at a pitch well out of the strike zone for strike 3.
I was long in bed Bernie, but where was Ron Hunt when the Brewers' needed him?

I have hated the Dodgers since the 1970s, really hate them in the $400-million plus team salary days, but fear they will do something only done by my Big Red Machine in over a century -- win back to back World Series as a National League team (Reds in 75-76 of course. Before that, the last time it was done was 22-23 New York Giants.)

Thanks. Might be a good chance for Jon Sumrall to enter the mix.

Morning D-Leaguers!

Yes, the Bengals play tonight... Well, they will take the field, I am not sure they will show up to play. Game starts at 7:15pm central.

Have to step up the amount of exercise the monster gets now. She weighed in at a whopping 147 last week at the vet's office. Weight for her mix breed is 100-140. They want her down in weight. Females are generally lighter so, we are targeting 120. She does get lazy throughout the day and needs another walk in the evening. More exercise for me too.

Nothing more to add other than you folks be safe out there and God Bless.

Good morning folks.

Warrior, thanks for reminding me the Bengals play tonight. Now I can forget it again. I can't imagine being any less interested in a team not coached by Mark Stoops.

Busy work day. Beautiful weather in the east - just the way I love it. Hope it is a good day for all.

Good morning folks.

The Bengals are Lucy and I'm Charlie Brown.

I noted that Flacco has made more completions to Chase in his first two games after arriving cold with no knowledge of the offense than Burrow did in any two-game period despite having played with Chase back to college.

Maybe "Porcelain Joe" is not as irreplaceable as we thought...

Beautiful October day. Had a refreshing run/walk this morning. Churning out my work now, but looking forward to the weekend.

Hope it is a good one for everyone.

I am not quite ready to go that far yet given the Bungles previous years, but if Flacco can continue to play like that, I will start to believe.
