Cats vs. Texas. Home game doesn't seem to matter these days but I have a feeling it'll be closer than many expect. UL beating #2 Miami was a disappointment but it gives me some hope for tonight. Not much but some. Texas by 10.

Mariners 1 game away from making it an all-west coast World Series.

Delightful Friday evening. Friend & I attended a HS football game as we frequently do. Fifth this year. Saw Brossart at Ludlow in a titanic struggle hard on the banks of the Ohio River. My favorite stadium to watch a game. Can't be more than a pro's 9-iron from the water & if river floods in the least, the field is underwater. Several lit-up tugs pushing barges passed by during the game. Their field is all red turf. West Cincy hills in the background. It's only 10 minutes down the hill from my house.

Game was very entertaining for two evenly matched Class A teams. Final was 21-20 Brossart. Brossart coaching misjudgment gave Ludlow the ball back on their 20 with around 3 minutes left. L drove the ball better than they had all game and scored with 50 seconds left. They attempted the XP for a tie but B blocked it - except they were offside! So now from 4.5 feet away, L tried to run it in for the win & failed.

Afterwards we drove a mile along the river to the newly reopened & famed Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club. Had been closed five+ years after a runaway barge plowed into and destroyed the barges holding the bar and outdoor restaurant areas. Looked & felt very much like the original - good deal. Live, not that good, entertainment. We each had a beer served by the young, not very covered, good-looking (female) bartenders. They even gave the old men leftovers from the drinks they were making. Good night indeed.

Good morning folks.

Well, I said yesterday the Cats might catch Texas napping. They did, but when your coach is brain dead that doesn’t matter. I guess now we’ll hear from our worthless AD about moral victories and playing hard, as Louisville and Indiana prove that so-called basketball schools can win football games with the right coach—and Vanderbilt proves that the SEC can be challenged with the right coach.

Kentucky fans are sheep for accepting Stoops. Penn State fans ran off Franklin who was a hundred times more successful.

Ah well. Rant over. Hope you all have a great Sunday.

Good Sunday morning everyone.

This type of games is not an oddity here in KY. "Let's try running up the middle repeatedly on this Texas team. It has to work eventually". I think they were 0 for 6 attempts at it when it really mattered. Reminds me of the quarterback draw when we were 3rd and long back in the 80's.

Oh well, in case you have forgotten it's basketball season now.

Enjoy your day everyone.

There was a game vs. Bama back in 80's where we had 1st & goal from about the three. We ran 4 straight dive plays & didn't score.

I can't forget as for me it doesn't start till FB games are complete. Then I start thinking about hoops.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning D-leaguers!

53° this morning with moderate to gusting winds. (Going to be rough on the roofers who start today)

Played 3 co-ed softball games yesterday afternoon and we won all 3. 15-1, 14-3, and 18-5. Yeah, basically snooze fest because everyone was ripping the ball. I went 7-8 with 2 walks.

Cooler temps are making the monster want to walk longer which is good. She needs to lose a few pounds. (so do I still, stuck at just below or above 200lbs depending on the day). She weighed in at a whopping 147lbs at the last vet visit.

Well, you folks hit that Monday and tackle it hard to get it out of the way and try to enjoy your day.

Be careful out there and God Bless.

Good morning folks.

Another work week. Getting harder to justify, especially since I got my first Social Security check on Friday. More than ever, I'm working to give most of it up in taxes.

Sunny and cool in the east. A beautiful October day. On Saturday, my daughter and I will take our traditional tour of all the haunted sites in the Shenandoah valley and Blue Ridge mountain towns. This evolved out of our shared love of the Halloween vibe. Looking forward to that.

Hope it is a good day for all of you.

2 walks in ten at bats! I admire your patience. Too often to my detriment, I was swinging at the first pith I could reach.

Yeah, most pitchers out there know I am an opposite field hitter, so they pitch me inside to keep that from happening. My only out was dipping trying to go opposite field after being walked the prior at bat because the pitches were too far inside and I popped out. There is usually a runner at first (most of the time female) to I go opposite to afford her the ability to get to third.

Four plays right down the gut. I ain't no football coach, but I would have checked out the ends one time.
Kind of makes you think it was by design. You know, lose to piss people off enough to buy you out. Imagine getting 38 million to go with the millions you already have and then become an analyst or something where you could talk about how bad or good other coaches are.

Well, Kentucky should have won Saturday, my take, not kicking a field goal in the first quarter was Stoopid!!! Not kicking a field goal in overtime was Stoopid! That's all I have to say bout dat!!!
You know that will probably become a thing later on after he is gone. When other UK coaches make bonehead decisions it will become known as a "Stoopid" call.

Good morning folks.

The World Series is set, and it is hard to imagine one for which I have less enthusiasm. I guess I'll root for the team that isn't even from America because the alternative is the vile Dodgers franchise that thinks baseball can be reduced to simply buying every big-dollar free agent. If they win again, that will be hard to deny. It reminds me of the Final Four recently with Duke, UNC-CHeats and Kansas in it. Yech.

Cold morning in the east. Low 40s. Hope you all are doing well.

Morning D-Leaguers! Get up, get going, and get over that Hump!

47° this morning with light winds. Today's high to be in the low 80's.

Roofers finished by noon yesterday, now waiting on the guys who work on the gutters and the windows to come by and finish the job.

Not much else going on so...

God Bless and be careful out there.

Agreed. Had the same thought. Show the next job you could've won the game and then do that to sabotage it.

You know, lose to piss people off enough to buy you out. Imagine getting 38 million to go with the millions you already have and then become an analyst or something where you could talk about how bad or good other coaches are.

Or another job at VT or somewhere else. I can't believe anyone would want him as an analyst
