Good morning from ATX. Currently 73°F and cloudy. Increasing rain chances tonight. Showers expected tomorrow. Hopefully addresses our nasty drought. Day 46 with no rain.

Got in an ugly, profanity-laced argument at 6:45 pm yesterday evening with a physician I had been assisting. He was driving at the time. Called my boss immediately after the incident, admitting my mistake and temper loss. Stay tuned.

Happy Friday, y'all. Go Cats!

Good morning folks.

Big test for the Cats tonight. I can honestly say no outcome would surprise me from a comfortable win to getting blown out as a result of major offensive struggles. But I actually think the Cats will win a close (and meaningless) game on the strength of decent defense while both teams work to get their offenses clicking. We'll see. At least it isn't another weekend where all we have is watching Elmer Fudd Stoops get outthought and outplayed.

It was actually cold this morning. Went out to jog/walk and my fingers got stiff from the cold until I couldn't feel anything.

Should be a good weekend. My annual daddy/daughter "Ghost Tour of the Shenandoah Valley" is Saturday. Hope you guys have a great weekend.

Good morning folks.

The Cats impressed me last night. I was high on this team without adding any contributions from freshmen Johnson and Moreno, but they look ready to be big time players. The POTENTIAL on the defensive end is off the charts. And it looks like Pope recruited guys willing to do what it takes to win. Add an elite PG in Lowe and eventually maybe the most physically imposing big in the country in Quaintance and its easy to see this team matching up well with anyone.

Today is our annual "Dad-Daughter Ghost Tour" of the small mountain towns in the Shenandoah Valley, but my daughter the school teacher picked up the flu bug, so we may have to postpone. Either way, it'll be a good Saturday. Hope you all enjoy it.

Good morning everyone.

Great exhibition game last night. We sure played well without our only true point guard. No one stands out as having a bad game, but the one I'm most surprised about is Moreno. He looks like he can play with the best of the bigs. I would like to have seen Potter as well (I was impressed with him in the B/W game) but it looks like he and Hawthorne may be best served by redshirting....free education and they're most likely making more $$$ than most of us.

BTW...I always find the box score on UKathletics. I don't know how fast they get it posted because I usually wait until the next morning to look. Last night's game looks very balanced. The defense should carry this team.

I hope everyone has a great day.

A good friend of mine from Oldham County has had season tickets for 25 years but is seriously thinking about dropping out. He may wait to see what happens with Stoops but at 73 it’s getting to be a bit of a hassle. Tired of the drive and fighting the crowds, or lack of crowds.

Hello folks. Happy Sunday.

I'd call yesterday's football result an embarrassment and humiliation, but I don't think Stoops has enough dignity or pride to be embarrassed or humiliated. Just keep the checks coming, Barney, seems to be his attitude.

Some of you may have seen this mind-blowing statistic that highlights Stoops' ineptitude but others may not.

Since November, 21, 2021 - very nearly four full years -- Tennessee has won more SEC games at Kroger Field than Kentucky. Yes, another program has more wins on UK's field (3) than our sorry teams over a near-four year period.

Strange Saturday for me. Had a nice day in the Shenandoah Valley with my wife, soaking up some fall colors and the Halloween vibe. Then on the way home, a guy rear-ended me on the Interstate when the cars in front of us were forced to stop. His van was demolished. My SUV was heavilly damaged, but I was able to pry out the crushed quarter panel and drive it home. The good news: Police cited him and affixed blame, so I should be able to get my vehicle repaired without paying a deducible or getting my rates increased.

Hope all is well for you folks.

Aaahhh! Just thinking about it hurt mine.
Question for you? One must maintain control of a dog when walking, ie staying off private property, around people, etc, but do you allow your dog to partially lead the walk with his nose? Some people watch Ceasar Milan and think a dog must walk beside you. I didn't don't do that. The walk is the hunt to the dog and he gets more joy by having more things to smell and more exercise by having more leash freedom. This in turn helps increase his bonding experience with you.

I start the walk in a different direction than the day before but then let her dictate the rest of the walk as it makes her happier. So in essence, she determines the route and pace after that.

Morning D-Leaguers!

58° this morning with a high in the mid 60's with moderate winds expected.

Played 3 co-ed softball games yesterday and we won them all again. Much closer games than last week. We are now sitting at 11-0 for the fall season with 2 games left. Not a bad day at the plate as I went 4-7 and 3 walks. Kind of helps lessen the depression of the UK and Bengals woes.

Going to Karate class tonight and tomorrow night (usually only once a week, Thursdays to help teach) to brush up on my skills more as I will be tested Thursday for my 7th Dan Black Beld in Kyokushin and Shotokan styles, Will not be as hard as other testing as it is more honorary at this level, but I must demonstrate the knowledge required for it. Will perform advanced katas and self-defense techniques along with light sparring (unless someone gets a little overzealous). I have a couple of students who want go against me so... My instructor is bringing in some other masters from other areas to monitor the test and grade my performance.

Monday, Monday folks so...go get em if you are out there today and God Bless.

Good morning folks. Another work week is upon us. Rough day ahead. I'll spare you the details.

Another battle on the schedule today: I have to convince the insurance company from the guy who smashed me to immediately approve a rental car for me. I have lots of critical driving responsibilities coming up I can't blow off. And my wife drives to work in our other, nicer car, so it's not really available.

It's a beautiful October day in Washington. I was out for a long walk earlier and the colors really are amazing. I love this time of year. I'd have to say it was a very nice weekend despite being smashed up on the interstate.

Hope you all have a god day.

Dang Bernie, best of luck with that surgery Monday. I let them carve my prostate from the inside with a laser beam a couple years back, and that was bad enough. That turned out to be a mostly successful operation for me, so I'll be hoping for the same outcome for you.

Toiling away. Still wrestling with the insurance company of the scoundrel who smashed me up on the interstate to get a rental car until mine can be made roadworthy.

Bluejays blew a golden chance last night. Feels like a decisive failure to put pressure on the Dodgers.

Hope all is well for all D-Leaguers.

Thanks guys. I had the shaving thing done a few years ago. It probably helped some, but he also told me to pee before going to bed and then go back and pee again ten minutes later. That helped. I got 2 hydroceles, a cyst and a mass (probably benign). I handle pain pretty good, but we were walking through Costco a bit ago, and the first ten minutes were ok. The rest of the trip was like someone jabbed me with a stick ever step.

Hello folks.

Worn out from trying to protect myself in this full-on battle over getting insurance companies to do the right thing.

To recap: I was slammed from behind by a minivan, knocking me into the car in front of me. The state trooper on the scene cited the minivan driver and said he'd be filing a report affixing blame to that driver. So far, his insurance company, Allstate, has refused to accept responsibility. The woman I was propelled into filed a claim against me, and my insurance company is telling me I may be held liable for a rate increase, and will have to pay a deductible to get my vehicle fixed if Allstate doesn't agree to cover it. I've been on Allstate like a hungry wolverine but they just keep stalling me. The battle continues.

Otherwise, working hard. I hope all is going well for everyone.

Morning D-Leaguers!

34° this morning with light winds. High today to be in the mid 60's. The monster is loving this cooler weather as we walked a bit longer yesterday than normal. The hotter temps wear her out quick.

Testing for my 7th Dan (7th Degree Black Belt) in Kyokushin/Shotokan starting at 5pm today. Normally at this level it is honorarily awarded for time, training, and knowledge already displayed, but my instructor has invited some people he wants to show that even at 50 plus people can still do it. Both me and another instructor who are over 60 are testing for 7th. Not going to go hard at it just go through some advanced katas and show some self-defense techniques older people can do. Maybe some light sparring as we have a few students who want to spar me.

Not much else going on for today so, you folks punch the day in the mouth and get through to Friday (All Hallows Eve) and destroy all monsters.

God Bless and be careful out there.

Good morning folks...Kentucky is playing THAT Georgetown? I just assumed it was Georgetown College of Kentucky...I guess I'm still back in the Calipari days of exhibition games. Georgetown has been down for a couple years, and barely beat local Patriot League team George Washington in a recent scrimmage. As that game was local here in DC, I read a bit about it: Sounds like Georgetown is vulnerable in the paint, so I hope the Cats exploit that.

Something tells me UK won't be sky-high for this game and a sloppy effort wouldn't surprise me, which will give Pope something to work with in final practices before the season is real.

I think the last time Georgetown played at Rupp Arena might have been that great game where Villanova beat them in the 1985 NCAA finals. That's a great memory for those of us who hated Georgetown and John Thompson with a passion.

Good morning everyone.

Don't forget KY vs Georgetown tonight at 7PM.
So this is another it-don't-count practice?
I know all of you are the age that Georgetown was one of the favorite teams to "hate" way back when. The 84' game is still one of the toughest losses I remember.

Go Big Blue!
IMO Joe B. made a huge mistake of taking our bigs out when Ewing got in foul trouble. He should have poured it on with the talent & size advantage presented to us. Besides that, I was attending my cousin's wedding during the first half of the game. Miserable.

One of the worst losses for me. We man handled them in the first half and then went 3-33 (something like that as I recall) in the second half to lose the game.

That game along with the Laettner heartbreaker and Wisconsin 2015 are the worst for me and they're interchangeable as far as the order is concerned.

Game on SEC Network+ tonight. I hate SEC Network+.

Rough game but being point guardless was no surprise. I'm certainly not going to sweat out an exhibition game in late October.
Good morning from ATX. 45°F and clear. Slight rain chance tomorrow.

Rough indeed last night. Yikes!

Happy Friday, y'all. Happy Halloween.
