Heard on the radio today, that today is officially the first day of Christmas shopping for men! I really thought it was Wednesday!!!
We no longer gift exchange. When we did I waited to go out on Christmas Eve.........the atmosphere is electric.......you can feel the excitement of Christmas in the air.........Now you couldn't pay me to go to a mall and most stores.......any day...........

Agree. No longer a festive atmosphere here in the states, unlike Germany or Netherlands.

Good morning folks. Hope it is a Merry Christmas Eve for all.

My son got home from Texas last night, so all is bright around our house.

Cats got a day of rest in yesterday on the defensive end, but it was fun watching Kam go off. He couldn’t hit his own *** with both hands during that losing streak. If he’s back to the shooter we was supposed to be, it’s good tidings for the rest of the season.

have a great day.

Good morning everyone.

I had to drive to a funeral yesterday and was only able to listen to the first half. At one point Kam made a good defensive play right before a timeout. I remember thinking his confidence will now be up and he'll hit a 3. He made back to back 3's. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see or hear the other 6 he hit in the 2nd. I think the return of Lowe and JQ plus Kam hitting 3's will get us back in contention.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Slow day, here!! Was watching a movie and they were playing pinochle, which reminded me of this. We were at Fort Hood on training and card game broke out! Can't imagine soldiers playing cards, anyway, they get out a new deck of cards and holy Schiff, first hand I get 4 aces (first thing is I have business playing poker) I'm thinking I am going to win me some money! So I play it cool and check first time around and then really start throwing in the money, to my surprise so is everyone else! Never seen so much money in one pot! Betting done everybody starts flipping cards over! I have never seen so many 4 of a kind, all kind of flushes, full houses! Then someone says there is something wrong, got to looking and someone one had bought a deck of pinochle cards, busted my bubble, though I had a winner!!!

I can remember watching my Dad and uncles play, never learned how to play
Used to work a job in a control room with other people where when things were going well, we just had to get up up and do a series of readings for about ten minutes every two hours. In between readings, we played double pinochle. Preventing things from going poorly and our reactions when things went poorly is when we earned our pay.

Was trying to ask, was that at the nuclear plant?

Yep (as you see, I just had one of the accidents we talked about). I worked there long enough to get a small pension, but I didn't like working 7 day swing shift. Your body never got adjusted to a sleep rest pattern and I got an opportunity to work for myself.

I have been having to drive a lot lately and Jan likes to listen to music on the radio. They have played I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas a lot. I just looked it up. It was sung on the Ed Sullivan show in 1953 by a ten year old girl. The Oklahoma City Zoo did a fundraiser and bought her a hippo for Christmas for 3 thousand dollars. She Donated it to the zoo. It lived to the age of 47 when it died of a heart attack while being transferred to WDW.

Good afternoon all, I could not let this day pass without wishing each of you a VERY Merry Christmas!

Many of you are direct friends and also many are indirect friends I'd do anything possible to assist if ever needed.

If the Lord doesn't take me home, I DO plan to be back here and will try explaining some...

God Bless you ALL and may God protect you like only he can... May this day allow you to go forward with your Godly desires and may all your families be protected, blessed, and loved...

Good morning folks. Cold and cloudy in the east. My son and I hit some favorite activities yesterday -- the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, a walk around Capitol Hill, dinner at a favorite sports bar then the Washington Wizards versus Toronto Raptors game. Rare win for the feeble Wizards, not that we cared. But it was fun rooting for Immanuel Quickley, who I think scored 25. I'm not a huge NBA guy, but young men my son's age are into it, so we go a couple times a year.

Back from a long hike and taking it easy. Hope you all have a good day.
