We visited the “Christmas Story “ house 3 or 4 years ago. Love the movie.
If you haven't given it a try, the "Christmas Story Christmas" is not terrible. It's set in 1973 - Ralphie is grown, a father himself, and a struggling writer in Chicago (and played by the same actor). He gets drawn back to his hometown, where many of his boyhood chums are still filling their boyhood roles -- many played by the same actors now adults. It basically ends where the original begins...

It doesn't stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the original, but if you like the original enough to visit the house, I predict you'll enjoy it (You may well have already seen it, but others, maybe not.)

I watched it the other evening. You’re right. It’s not as good as the first, but it wasn’t bad.

I have never seen a Christmas story. Really was not interested. Wife, co-workers, friends, have all looked at me with surprise after I tell them that. I have also never seen E.T, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, or a series of movies people rave about. Not sure why other than they did not seem interesting to me. Maybe one day...

Yes, someday you need to watch GWTW and Casablanca. You will be glad you did.

I have loved Casablanca since I was a teenager. Appealed to a deep sense of adventure. So many great lines. I could watch it almost any time and not be bored.

I was in Casablanca in October. They have a place called Rick's Cafe Americain set up to be like the one in the. movie. Just a tourist trap, but glad to have had the chance.

Working from home from now to January 5, which seems a long way off, but will come in a flash, I predict.

After being bitterly cold earlier in the week, it felt unseasonably warm today. I think I prefer the cold. Hope the season is Merry for all you folks.

I have posted this before, but it kind of reminds me of the pavions on the waterfront in Izmir. As soon as an American walked in, the band would start playing a Tom Jones song. Delilah was popular back then.

Well, I will use this opportunity to start a D-League question about what movie is your favorite. I know it will be hard for some to narrow it down to one, but mine is The Great Escape. Since it is based on the true story and I have seen documentaries with survivors who were in the camp, and they said that the real escape was close to how it was portrayed in the movie except, before the actual escape, the Americans in the camp were moved because they were too unruly and harder to control.

In the past, I often used the title score and whistled it when I was feeling down and a little depressed. The song always reminded me that others had it much worse than me and it always picked me up. Great movie.

My favorite kind of depends on the mood I am in, so it varies. Today, I'd probably say Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood.

The Great Escape reminds me of the guy who trained me on my first good paying job. He was a WW2 vet. His first day of duty, his tank was captured and he spent WW2 in a Geman POW camp.

Good morning folks. Happy Saturday. Santa Claus is coming...

My wife's family is having a "holiday gathering" that is also a "celebration of life" for second cousin who died a while back. Not looking forward to it, in all candor, but it is probably going to be one of those events that I dread then enjoy. At least I hope so.

Big chance for the Cats to keep some momentum going. Last chance of course, to make an OOC statement. I wish I were more optimistic. Go Cats.

Hope you all have a great Saturday.

Good morning, two of my favorite actors are Denzel Washington and Clint Eastwood. On the subject of favorite movies, today I am going to pick American Sniper. Its a true story and is a very good movie.Bradley Cooper plays Chris Kyle. The movie is an older one so most of you have probably seen it.But if you haven't check it out, it's a great movie.I hope that everyone has a wonderful day and be safe out there.

My favorites are the ones I watch the most: Casablanca and Outlaw Josey Wales. If they're on, I have to tune them in. Forgetting movies, the Landman series is great & hilarious. Gotta watch any home dinner scene. Just watched the last episode again.

I watch so many movies that I can’t name just one or two favorites. I love Outlaw Josey Wales, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, For a few Dollars More, and the Searchers. After the westerns, I like Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, Where Eagles Dare, The Thin Man series and Bringing up Father. I also like Lawrence of Arabia and My Favorite Wife. So, I have a varied taste in movies and I just like older ones, before all the technology became available.

You guys paid any attention to Pierre Rondo? Rajons 8th grade son. Starting for North Oldham County HS and scored 29 when they beat 8th ranked Louisville Ballard a couple of weeks ago. Been playing for dads AAU team and building quite a name. Dad has hired a personal trainer that has worked for LeBron James, Rondo himself and others. Some have him #1 in the 2030 class.

Today's game is why I never post until the game is over! Told my friend they were hard to watch, wasn't playing as a team! Looked like a team second half!
Yeah, me too. Even if you know what you're talking about and can keep your emotions under control there is a 50% chance you're going to look like an idiot. I try not to post anything about the game until the next day AFTER I check out the box score to make sure I didn't miss something.

**************

Lowe sure makes the difference for us. JQ is awesome. I loved watching him last year at Arizona St. Man, I wish there was a way to play JQ and Moreno at the same time but sure don't want to pull JQ away from the basket. Goodness...imagine if our shooters can start hitting the 3's.

It will be a busy time for us until Christmas Eve. I'll miss the game Tuesday to go to my coworkers funeral.

Enjoy this Christmas season.

Good morning folks. A nice early Christmas present from the Cats -- a glimpse at a team with Lowe and Quaintance doing what they are capable of doing. and Oweh back to himself and even Kam Williams getting out of his funk. Throw in Moreno just getting enough of a feel for the college game to be comfortable, and this is a real team.

Busy Sunday here. Some backed up work to attend to, then church, and then some late Christmas shopping. But it should be a fun day -- always in a better mood when the Cats have brought home a big win.

Hope you all have a a good day.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 52°F and clear. Heading to 74°F later today.

Cats looked good yesterday. Team is deadly when all players are healthy.

Christmas party at our place today. All family and couple friends. Food, gifts and good cheer.

Wishing y'all another fine Sunday.

Sorry to say, but I am one of those idiots who sometimes post emotionally when the team plays the way they did in the first half yesterday because that seems to be a theme. Hoping that will turn around now with Lowe and Quaintance in the mix. If we can get that part of our game corrected along with outside shooting, I think we could be good.

It seems also, that we are shifting our focus to the inside game for the time being as that was what I saw a lot of last night. Was impressed as well with Jayden's mobility and power. Was a little concerned that he might play tentatively worried about possibly injuring that ACL again. Quite the opposite, he played like a beast.

Well, off to walk the monster shortly and then settle in for some football.

You folks enjoy your day and God Bless.

Unlike father, sounds like he must be able to shoot. Odds of me seeing him in college are well less than 100%.

Good morning folks. Very busy work Monday for a holiday week.

Getting excited for Christmas. My son comes in for Texas tomorrow. Finished most of my shopping yesterday. Made Christmas Eve reservations for the family and my daughter's boyfriend at my favorite DC -area steakhouse. And we'll go to church on Christmas eve -- my wife led a charity effort between the church and her hospital to supply toys for a number of poor families in the area.

Hope it is a good week for all of you.
