Curious on what our D-Line will look like next year. I know we failed last year at recruiting that position but have some quality guys this year already committed. I wouldn't expect to rely on true freshman to help out. Do we need or are we going after any JC guys?

Davis twins and Stoltenberg at tackles. Defensive ends are anybody's guess

Freedom is back at one DE. Hopefully he'll be more of a base end where he should be fine. Who knows for the other spot. I suspect the coaches don't even know. There's one JUCO DE they're still looking at. Davis (Alex) or Natter could step up. Miller got props from the scout team. Q could also make an impact next year when he's healthy.

No offense to Dzuris but am looking for something more than steady from that position. Am disappointed we didnt just take the plunge and plug in Davis/Neal into that position this year.

No matter what we did, we weren't going to be outstanding on the DL this year. I love that the coaches are redshirting everyone they can. I'm not sure we will ever consistently field a team with the talent of Ohio state/Michigan....but if we can get in the ball park and build depth and seniority through red shirts, it will give us a good shot at those guys

Neal has been traveling to road games (obviously NW). Has he even played any meaningful snaps this season?

Yeah. So disapointing the coaches didn't take the plunge and replace the guy who leads all linemen in solo tackles, assisted tackles, total tackles and sacks. Plus recovered the only forced fumble of the season. Brilliant.

For those looking for someone to step in next year.. watch for Collin Miller. He's a redshirt that came in as a linebacker, has put on about 15lbs, while keeping his speed and will be a legit factor at DE soon.

Maybe because of what they see in practice and of course there are the game results. He has been a difference maker and there is more. He often has to be held and another player chip at him as he drives to
pressure the qb. Lots of times where he doesn't get an official hurry, but the o and or qb has to account for him specifically ( he plays with heart ). GBR

I think Carlos Davis is gonna be a stud. Every week I see him improving and getting better. I think he has surpassed Stolt right now . I gotta honest Im not sure if Stolt is dealing with injuries still but i just havent seen it from here this year. Many had said he would be our best interior guy this year and imo hes about 3rd right now. Just seems very robotic and stiff albeit strong to me. No pass rush or pass rush moves. Just seems more of a two gap guy to me. AGAIN injuries may play a part and if thats the case i get it. Even still theres a place on the roster for a big physical guy like stolt regardless. When Wiscy comes in we will need a couple guys with his skill set lol.

i think and hope Khalil will improve as much as Carlos has but I havent seen it yet. Wish he was playing a bit more but maybe hes not quite ready yet, I think we will still need AT LEAST one more guy ready to play in the interior next year.

Outside at DE Freedom will be good to go. Im not worried about him. I AM worried about us being able to generate pass rush though. I also like what Ive seen from Davis already. Hes getting better as well as a freshman and all he needs now is to NOT THINK when hes playing. he will be so much better when hes able to react and not think.

After that its just a guess as to who is ready...Neal,King,Natter, or maybe the redshirts Miller,Alexander or the True freshman Guy as a situational guy?

I just hope we find someone capable of simply beating an OT and sacking the QB without scheme. When we get a couple of those guys on the field we will be back defensively.
