“If they want me gone, they can send me on my way. If they’re tired of winning, they can send me on my way. I won’t stop. I’m 55. I’ll go somewhere else and win. I ain’t going to the beach.

We’ve won this league eight of the last 10 years. Is that good? I’ve got a long memory in case y’all don’t know...”

Didn’t Emory Bellard have a similar statement way back when?

Notice the steady decline of the once dominant double deep loaded teams like Bama and Clemson. It's a slow steady burn from elite to just another good program. At least Saban and his galactic ego left right on time to preserve his propped up legacy.

Dabo is not going to leave without maximizing the severance.

This has the feel of Bobby Bowden last 6 years at FSU.

Saban would absolutely still be competitive. 10-2 or 11-1 every year, even if not the dominance of old.

Dabo still won't take players out of the portal. He's hard-headed and it's costing him. He at 9-3 ACC level, which is 8-4 SEC equivalent. Significant downgrade from the Clemson of old.

"League championship" means next to nothing if it's not SEC or B1G, at least in the national scheme.

I like Dabo, and want him to succeed. I wanted to see his hard-headedness be successful as some sort of morality check in college football. But it's very apparent that he's mistaken. And he knows, as he's got 4 transfers this year, after none last year and 1 in 2023 and 1 in 2022.

Agree, except 9-3 ACC is probably more like 7-5 SEC.

Won the ACC 8 of the last 10 years. That’s, uh, really great, yeah super awesome you can win in the ACC!!!
Winning a major football conference 8 out of 10 years is an incredible feat. It is absurd to argue that sort of thing isnt impressive or difficult or valuable.
Dabo has increased the value, prestige, and reputation of Clemson football and the program has been a dominant name in college football for the last 15 years as a result.

He led them to 4 NATIONAL CHAMPTIONSHIP GAMES in the last 10 seasons...and won 2 of them. He has finished the season ranked in the top 20 every year for the last 13 years. He has finished ranked in the top 5 on 6 different occasions in that 10 year span.

It is 17ing wild that you, or anyone, would be dismissive of his coaching record by citing Clemson being in the ACC.

A conference championship at any level IS great. You imply that it’s easy. It is not.
For once, I agree with you. He’s had some good teams and beat bama on a big stage. That team he beat with Watson was stacked with talent

ACC football ain’t nothing but some snitches!!! If he were in the SEC that 8 championships might very well be ZERO.

He won 2 national championships.
You can excuse all the conference championships you want...he has won 2 national championships and been to the final game 4 times.

That is objectively incredible.
