led his team to the conference title with a sprained MCL in a battle of 9-0 teams...threw 3 TD's and sneaked the other one in to account for all 4 TD's scored

more on the game on my site

If it's a small tear, he could put a brace on it and be OK. That ligament is on the inside of the knee, and it keeps the knee stable. It's also bigger and longer than the ACL, and thus more durable, stronger in general. This is a copy cut and paste from a medical orthopaedic website.

.•Grade I MCL Tear
This is an incomplete tear of the MCL. The tendon is still in continuity, and the symptoms are usually minimal. Patients usually complain of pain with pressure on the MCL, and may be able to return to their sport very quickly. Most athletes miss 1-2 weeks of play.

•Grade II MCL Tear
Grade II injuries are also considered incomplete tears of the MCL. These patients may complain of instability when attempting to cut or pivot. The pain and swelling is more significant, and usually a period of 3-4 weeks of rest is necessary.

•Grade III MCL Tear
A grade III injury is a complete tear of the MCL. Patients have significant pain and swelling, and often have difficulty bending the knee. Instability, or giving out, is a common finding with grade III MCL tears. A knee brace or a knee immobilizer is usually needed for comfort, and healing may take 6 weeks or longer.

As you can see, if he has a grade I tear, he could possibly play football after being out a week. I'm guessing (hope) that's the case.

But I think that Dominique Sullivan guy from Southaven is our back-up plan in case Dak goes somewhere else. Could be totally way off on that, but I don't see any point in making Sullivan a DE since we have just signed two.

And they really put his career at jeopardy by playing him- if that is true.

In the medical field every tear such as this is going to get a grade so that other health care professionals know how to treat it because you treat it differently based on how severe the injury is.

I'm well aware of the grading system. His MCL is gone, surgery doubtful...rest and rehab after the playoffs

the only question is whether he enrolls early or plays in the Army all-star game

I admittedly don't follow recruiting like I used to, but I didn't realize this was even an option for him.

He hasn't been invited to the Army All-Star game. I doubt he will go there unless some people decline the invite.

The only commitments we have going that I'm aware of are Brassell, CJ Johnson and then if Tobias commits to us, then we would have three.
