how people on this board think Tyson Lee is the only QB that ever threw a pick or got sacked...

Mallet is going for All-SEC QB and he was 12-35 with a pick vs Bammer....not sure what you people were expecting tonight

Does someone really need to explain this again? I know you're not this stupid, Coach. You just can't be...can you?</p>

with Lee starting we're almost guaranteed two interceptions. How many multiple int games does Mallet have? Zero Lee? 5. Lets not even count the fumbles and bone headed plays.

Lee is the worst QB in all of college football. He sucks and he's stupid.

He's had enough games to get something better than what we have, relying on Lee has set back the development of anyone else. If we don't get the ex Fl. QB, we are at square one again next year.

I have to believe that Russell with a year of practice under his belt will be a far more viable option at QB than anything we have this year. So even if we don't get Newton, I think we'll be in better shape than we are this year.

But I still believe Tyler Russell with one year of practice under his belt will be far more productive than a Tyson Lee or Chris Relf. My point is I don't see us having these same quarterback woes next year, with or without Cam Newton.

away when we had the ball inside the redzone and taking the sack resulting in a 3rd and 17 killed any chance we had left. If he would just throw the ball away we could of had chance on 3rd down. The defense gave up after that because they knew it was over.

C34 said Lee would be serviceable, I could not agree with that after last year's Ole Miss game and he still looks to me to be the same, horrible. He may be a great kid, but he doesn't belong on a football field. Mullen has had time to develop other options, that's why it's on him. Sure Croom didn't even try to recruit but don't you think he could have used Bumphis, Relf, Dixon... If it was my job I could not go to bed at night thinking Lee was the best I could do. Evidently, he does, so it's on him.

But tonight wasn't about just Lee, we stunk all over.

he had to play Lee...Relf is not ready to play more than 20 plays at QB in a damn college football game. No coach can make that happen.

Russell was not an option. He is not ready yet to play college football. Add to that our WR core is young and inexperienced. Wilder has had lots of drops, Heavens is lost, Bumphis is playing well for a Freshman, but not a superstar...

Next year we have Cam Newton. He will have tons of experience and a Spring under his belt. Russell, Stegall, and Relf get to compete for the back-up spot. We will be so much better off, its insane.

This is on Crooms, Mullen can only play the hand he was dealt.

but that was left the game was out of each. Like I said I give credit to Lee for trying but its a good thing he only has two games left. I hope all the rumors are true about Newton because we need him big! It would be great if we find a way to pull the last two off with Lee and Relf but I not holding my breath. I know we will play to the end but as long as Midget boy is in there I have no hope of him completing a pass for more than 15 yards. Id have a little more faith in Relf because at least he can see down the field.

You don't just wave a magic wand and there it is. The program has to be built up.

What exactly was he supposed to get that was better?

SPS and Mullen are on the same page. We're getting about all we can get out of what we have.

that you're either talking about Russell or Steagall here.

The ONLY way Russell would have possibly started would be if he had actually gone through spring practice with the team, but he did not. I don't fault him for wanting to be a teenager when he was 18 for the record.

And Steagall hasn't played football in a couple of years, and on top of that, he enrolled later than Russell did.

Plus, as I have said many, many times... QB's in the SEC have to be developed. It is the most important position, and the most difficult position to learn. You can't stick some guy out there straight from HS and expect to have success unless you have a rare once in a lifetime guy like a Peyton Manning.
