Played like a senior tonight. Not just scoring, but made 3 fantastic saves on balls that would have gone over. Once, he shot a deep 3 from the top, missed it, got his OWN rebound behind the goal, and then I believe scored it.
I can't remember us having a true point guard like this in the last 20 or 30 years. As great as Jamont could be, you just never had any confidence he was going to make the right decision each time down the court. I think he has a chance to be very very special.
but his shooting mechanics are weird to me. He doesn't follow through. The lack of follow through makes me think that he'll be streaky with his shooting of three pointers and free throws. However, people with quirky shooting styles have done well before (Reggie Miller) so hopefully he'll be a consistent threat.
in some games in the past by getting the ball down the court against the press without having to just give it to one man and hope he makes it across mid court.
Add that to the rest of his game the last couple of weeks.
Well hes getting free points by driving to the basket and getting to the free throw line. He drives with the toughness of Jamont but handles the ball better and takes better angles to the basket. He plays like an upperclassmen, and I agree he could go down as one of the best PG's in State history.
Bost and Ravern have some seriously F'd up mechanics...but as long as Bost keeps on driving and dishing and occasionally throwing it up from deep, and Ravern keeps tossing in shots from everywhere, to hell with mechanics.
