Croom didn't even try to keep Johnson. Reason # 239847923847928347928374928374982374 to hate that son of a *****.

Big time career move for Johnson. Well done sir.

but he is not a recruiter. I don't have any doubt they could get someone good to run that defense for less than 700K

Croom should have been begging the higher ups for a huge raise for Johnson (whose defensemade that winning season). Or he could have pulled a Sean Payton and paid him the extra out of his own 1.8 bajillion he was stealing from us.

I wouldn't care all that much if my coordinators were good recruiters. As long as they're good play callers, I'm good. If they happen to be good recruiters, awesome.

I would want my position coaches to definately be good recruiters, though.

I don't think it would be that hard to find a guy that can call a good defense and never recruit. I think they can find someone for 350K to just as good a job as EJ.

as paying Woody more. I remember the rationale being "Woody did a good job with Wes Carroll"- per Croom.

The Croom agenda while at MSU.

1. Praise Bear Bryant and Alabama every chance he gets.
2. Protect his friends. Ellis Johnson was not in this category.
3. Use his position to put minority coaches in position for their own head coaching jobs. See #2.
4. Winston Churchill say to push getting an education to his players.
5. Finish practice early enough to beat the post work crowd to the buffet.
6. Recruit qb's that throw interceptions and make td saving tackles.
7. Make a game plan, and don't make adjustments during the game. It's a good game plan, just lack of execution on the players parts. No one better blame Woody.</p>
