If cold weather can really help kill insects you farmers ought to be in good shape bug-wise this year

Thing is though, it doesn't stay cold long enough. When I was younger it was cold October all the way to march

The forecast for my neck of the woods is brutal. Low is supposed to be -5 with 25 to 30 mph winds.

You want to see brutal, check this out.

This is where some good friends of mine dairy farm. I can't even imagine getting up and milking in this.

Now that IS brutal. I don`t see how you can prepare for that.

You stay inside. I even move enough wood into the garage for the fire for the day. My garage won't be much warmer though.

I hunted this year on a day that only got up to 5 degrees. My eye lashes had ice on them. With the right gear it is doable if it is not really windy. My biggest issue was the bloodshot eyes afterward. My eyeballs were getting sticky from the cold. No joke.

17 THAT. Low of 25 here is bad enough for me. Give me 102 with 100% humidity anyday.

It doesn't. Alaska and Siberia have huge mosquitoes. Might work on other insects, but I haven't noticed it.

It's not to worry here in Mississippi. That new Lignite fueled power generator plant is going to give us lots of cheap electricity to keep warm with. No wait ...

I need to teach my lab that. I sometimes find him in my bed under the covers. Only suppose to be cold Monday and Tuesday here. Netflix will come in handy those 2 days.
