Damon Hayes also reported as a decommit by media, but news media then clarifies as still committed

Not sure these bother me if we get a big time name soon. Assume these two would need to get an offer from the new coach. Not sure why they dont wait to see who is coming. Hayes supposedly has a BC offer. Lets see how long Addazio lasts.

NB: Multiple media outlets reported him as decommitted, only to later clarify. Although his quotes about the highest bidder don't provide much in the way of reassurance. .I edited the title to make it more accurate.

I would expect any recruit with multiple offers to at least want to see who the next coach is before definitely following through on a commitment. Same thing happens everywhere. Georgia has a couple of super high ranked prospects (main one is Eason, a QB), and they are doing the wait and see thing too. The recruits should still love the school they attend overall, but the coaching staff is still going to be part of it.

I don't get wrapped up in recruiting news but it sounds like Hayes is a player I hope we keep in the fold.

I'd only take commits that decommit and recommit when we have a TREMENDOUS individual at HC. Who wants to possibly play for co-HCs.

Nuts, pop the tape in guy.

Tape? I don't need to watch the tape - tapes are made to show highlights of kids - and who knows what his competition was like so I'll say 2 words: offer list. I'm not trying to be a jerk, don't get me wrong I'd kill to have gotten an offer from a college, for any sport, but it's just another one of those lists that way to many Flood recruits/signees have had.

Advantage- Offer List. Let others watch the tapes. Although, once in awhile...

Bless Austin was terrible too being that we were his only offer. As a true freshman he looked pretty decent for a measly 1 offer 2 star kid.

Yes, once in a while there ARE "hidden gems," et al, but that doesn't mean they all are and, unfortunately for us with Flood's last 3 classes, most aren't, so I'm gonna stick with the odds on this one.

It would be foolish for a kid to say Rutgers is out or to decommit before they see who the coach will be.
Actually, decommit, test the waters, and recommit if the HC is acceptable is probably the smart move. Odds of losing your spot are slim.

Look folks --- be real here. If you are the parent of a recruit and you are looking at a situation like Rutgers right now, you tell your son to at least listen to other schools. Why? What is the new coach that comes in takes a look at you and decides you don't fit into his plans. What then? You want to make sure your kid has a potential backup plan no matter how much they love Rutgers. If the coach at Rutgers say "no fit" and you still want to go and pay your own way you have that, but if not, see who else may give you money. That's reality.

Take too many sleepers and your program might end up in a coma.
