I didn’t watch the game so I didn’t hear his comments, but he’s been coming at Duke/players since last season. K don’t F with him anymore or something?

Dan Duncekitch is the Bill Walton of the midwest. Like seriously, as obnoxiously biased as Walton is for the Pac 12 Dakitch is for the Big Ten. He's a clown and should keep his mouth shut.

If that is an accurate quote, then Dakich insulted:

1. The entire ACC
2. Michigan State which Duke beats like a drum.
3. The entire NCAA for the many many years that Duke advanced far in the tournament.

I'm sure he was misquoted or he "misspoke" (isn't that the favored excuse these days?). Or his mouth was hacked.

Full disclosure, I haven't seen the clip myself. However, I highly doubt he was misquoted, he says dumb stuff like this all the time. Obviously he didn't REALLY mean it, he was just trying to get a point across about a PERCEIVED soft schedule. He's not quite smart enough to make his point without using hyperbolic statements like that.

Of all the years to possibly make that statement, you choose a team that has played Auburn, Gonzaga, Texas Tech, and Kentucky so far this season?

OF ALL THE YEARS! Sure, no true road games, but that schedule was beefy and the numbers back up the claim. Unless he doesn’t think highly of those teams and is anti-facts?

Remember Jim Rome. He was constantly pronouncing Coach K's name wrong. I have no idea the reason unless Coach K wouldn't give him interviews. Rome was pretty much a button hole on his ESPN show and seemed to rub a lot of people wrong but it led to good ratings. Then there was the Jim Everette incident. Rome kept calling him Chrissy as in Chris Everrett. Jim kept asking him to stop but typically the arrogant Rome kept on until Everrett pounced on him. Rome never saw it coming. Rome is jerk and so is jock itch.

A lot of people say it staged but Rome said it wasn't and felt it led to him losing his show. What do you guys think after seeing the video OFC

This is one of my favorite gripes and digs at K and Duke. It’s so stupid but if it makes you feel better by all means, go stand on your soapbox and scream to the heavens to anyone who will listen. Come March madness time it doesn’t matter one iota. We don’t avoid them because we are scared. We don’t avoid them to rack up wins to pad our career resume or season resume. We play a top schedule year in and year out. If the 9 away games against the ACC brass isn’t enough of a test that it causes us to lose in March, because we didn’t schedule Wofford on the road in November??? That doesn’t even make a little bit of sense. And finally, my all time favorite is the ACC/BIG away game- that somehow doesn’t count apparently because we were forced to do it (in years we play away).

Dakich and Greenberg are the worst. Their bias against Duke is so obvious.

Correct, but keep something in mind. The goal of their trade is no longer to be right, it is to move the needle. You take a polarizing program like Duke and like the kids are saying now a days, you keep them on your lips. No matter what you are saying you are triggering emotions on both sides. There are enough blind haters (go look at RR or THR) that will rally around anything anti Duke. And the Duke faithful will be outraged enough to keep talking about them. Either way Dakitch and Greenberg are being talked about. It doesn’t matter if it’s for all the wrong reasons, discussion is enough in their world. And both work for ESPN, need I say more? Nobody has lost integrity for the business more than ESPN. They literally pay people to read off a script with opposite opinions.

Unfortunately, Skip Bayless has taken this level of trolling to the next level. Sports “analysts” that say things for pure shock value. What’s frustrating is that this is the kind of stuff that generates ratings these days. Would love for LeBron to have a segment like this with Skip... I’m sure Skip would love it too though because of all the headlines it would grab him.

Exactly my point above. And they all originated with ESPN. Many have branched off since creating their own brand but it’s shocking and frankly an indictment on the trade itself, that shock value is what moves the needle rather than honest insightful opinions.

If you don’t think Dakitch and Greenberg know exactly what they are doing you are kidding yourself. Their hyperbolic comments have a specific purpose.
Absolutely so even giving them the time of day is feeding into it. It’s why when K was given the softball question about it last night in the post game he didn’t just hit it out of the park, it was a blast that would make Aaron Judge blush. It’s such a stupid take that it’s insulting.

I've actually come to like Greenburg doing our games. It brings me great joy to see him get so many things wrong, haha. It's like he's coaching again!

No one wants to play Duke in a true Home and Away. Many prefer to play Duke off site at a larger arena for revenue purposes (no pesky free or cheap tickets to students: Eff those clowns).
.
But most don't want the danger it represents. Who wants to invite Duke into their house this year? Sure, you'll be on TV, and there will be high attendance for Duke (Zion).
.
But there is that pesky risk of being obliterated on national TV, home. Like, program ruining bad. So bad that potential recruits bail. And that is a risk pretty much every year. Even if it isn't that bad, there is a high risk of a loss vs Duke, even when Duke is truly on the road.
.
And that ignores the RETURN aspect. You know, where they have to venture into CIS. Because Duke has no interest in playing at an off campus facility. And while you might lose at home vs Duke, you might get destroyed in CIS while your players get mocked openly.
.
When talking heads whine about Duke not playing road games, they need to be specific. What they want is for Duke to play a very tough game on Thursday, and then travel to some super tough mid major on Saturday. With no return game.
.

They really want Duke to schedule sure fire losses, with no chance for Duke to extract revenge the following year. Hard pass.

Exactly, also the idiots that talk about not playing any true road games until the conference season starts, look past the fact that the NCAA Tournament is played on Neutral Sites, not on an opposing team’s homecourt. Coach K prepares his team’s for March and April by playing in bigger venues just like where the games will be played in The NCAA Tournament

Duke was a 2 point dog against Kentucky and a 21 point favorite @ Wake Forest. Which was the tougher game? Sorry, bad example, but you know what I mean.
