He's rallying the troops like Sherrill did. Inspiring confidence and belief that we CAN and WILL win at MSU. His passion and energy are contagious. I don't know how long he'll be here, but it's going to be a hell of a ride for as long as he is.

I agree with your observation. Mullen is the first guy since Jackie to talk up MSU and what the program can accomplish. I'm so proud to have him at our university. Good things are ahead!

I don't know what young Sherrill was like.

I don't compare the two. They seem different. Mullen seems a lot more X's & O's oriented where as Sherrill was a lot me PR oriented.

I will never forget Sherrill's "chalk talk" he did in the Union for the students. Sort of like a postgame & pregame show rolled into one. I asked him questions several times in my time at State. And I thought that was pretty damn awesome to have better access than a lot of media people would.

That's not to say Mullen isn't PR oriented. Because Mullen is opening spring practice to the public and wants to see DWS sold out, yeah SOLD OUT, for the spring game.

Before I forget...one funny tidbit from tonight. Mullen said if you see on of our players this spring, you might want to give him a hug and congratulate his surivial through spring training.

...sorry for the incoherence tonight. I'm putting down some chivas so I can calm the #*$% down and go to sleep sometime tonight

I know, I cant wait til next year. I really think with his knowledge we will replace Auburn & LSU as one of the top 2 major power in the West. He has the offensive mind & knows how to recruit! I don't think JS, could hold his jock. This guy is the real deal.

I also liked he mentioned "He was looking forward to Thanksgiving". I don't think he meant the turkey either! I like how firey he is, recruits will pick up on this. Things are looking up, I can't wait for a little Thanksgiving "payback" myself.

unless auburn has something drastic happen to their offense (drastic in a good sense), they're going to be bad for a while. they dont have any young players coming in, and the coaching situation is/has been a sore spot for years (assisstant coaches).
LSU Les may finally be running out of lives down on the bayou. they didnt get any of their signature game-swinging-idiotic-looking plays this year. ( i wont count Troy b/c they were simply out-depthed on D in the 2nd half)

I agree he comes in with the same attitude that jackie did. i'm a winner. he has a long way to go to achieve what jackie has and did. i think he can't fit into jackies jock yet. even though he has that potential
