why he is getting paid to be the Offensive Coordinator? If he calls a majority of the plays, he makes some head scratching play calls all the time. If he doesn't and Mullen does, then he is nothing more than a Quarterback coach for a head coach that is a Quarterback guy (and that means Mullen is calling this crap). Mullen has his own issues which are well documented but I understand why he has his position. I can't say the same for Les Koenning.
Why was Ballard limited so much? Why do you call a Quarterback draw right after Relf takes 10 seconds to get up after getting blasted, especially when your backup has a knee injury and you don't really have a third guy? We waste so many downs each game on some really stupid calls. I understand plays sometimes just don't work out, but I am talking about things that have never and would never work.
Tonight wasn't completely awful playcalling, but several of our possessions were wasted by poor play calling. And with our offensive struggles, we can't have our coaches putting us in a bad position so often. People will argue that its the players causing issues and it is hard to overcome that, but from what I have seen, that is only more of a reason that our Offensive coaching staff needs to quit setting them up for failure.
