someone asked if we were going to be able kick a field goal next year and Mullen replied "If our offense does what they are supposed to do we will only have to worry about PAT's"

He really impressed me tonight with his enthusiasm and really got me excited about MSU football for the first time in a while.

It sounded like he would coach for the national championship game. He made some very compelling arguments for it, stating that he & Tebow both made the commitment last year after the Heisman, to get back to the BCS championship, and that he wanted to be there to follow through with that commitment. If there was any question in my mind, if it was a bad idea to stick around...he sure laid them to rest with how he described that commitment to Florida & Tebow. Granted some is coach talk, but it was great to hear that kind of stuff.

and he said he made a commitment to Tebow regarding the National Championship last year, and Tebow got them there so he feels like he needs to honor his commitment and be there, but he said he still wasn't sure if he was going to coach in it or not. Edited to say: Germans by one minute

Said he looked forward to waving at the Alabama fans in Tuscaloosa on his way to play in the SEC title game in Atlanta. Pretty ballsy.

By the time he got to Jackson...giving the speech was very fluid to him. Yea, he talked special teams in Jackson as well.

Overall it was the same from what he has been saying earlier. He continued to keep the crowd rowdy early when he got in front of everyone and requested them to keep it ringing in there. He sounded pretty firm on his commitment to change the players attitude and make sure everyone on offense is getting the opportunity to touch the ball. He also said he can't wait for the day where we drive through all the SEC schools cities in a caravan (he specifically included Tuscaloosa) as we are on our way to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game. He also has his recruiting sights set and is going to develop a staff centered on recruiting and intensity. Overall the crowd was loving him and feeding off of him and he answered the questions really well at the end. One thing that stuck out was how he went off for a few minutes on how he wants everyone to see us in the spring. He wants a sellout at Scott field and he plans on having our practices open so everyone can get a taste of what is to come. He also said he is going to work the players asses off and that we should give the players a hug afterward for surviving it. So its going to get nasty for a few weeks but in the end could be very rewarding.

After it was over, I witnessed GB giving what I'd call a professional *** chewing to Rubinstein over what I perceived to be that very topic.

on the MSHOF part.

I think they didn't want it to be in the museum where the exhibits where because after the Cohen press conference, everyone looked at all the exhibits free of charge. As if a free open house is a bad thing for a museum.

Did anyone get a picture of the sign the guy in the back corner made stating "Hey Dan...we need one of these" Pointing to a BCS national championship trophy. Classic.

I don't know about you, but I really appreciated the fact that he didn't have a stage. I went to see the new coach, & all I saw was the back of about 10 peoples head. I guess it was 500-800 people standing around looking at the back of each others head.

Mullen sounds great, & I think he will do well as a head coach

Only problem I have is, every time State gives away a shirt at something like this, they always run out of XXL, we are the fattest state in the country, make more XXL......not that I would wear the shirt alot, but I like my free **** from time to time

In the second picture, it looks as if Mullen is thinking "Damn, this Byrne is a nut job! He is about to Ninja somebody right now!!!"

"What about Tyler Lee?" at some point during the PC. Everybody looked around like WTF? Who is Tyler Lee?

The one comment that stuck out to me was from Byrne. He said that after 3 coaching searches at his different jobs and interviewing over 30 candidates, Mullen was the most prepared he had ever seen. Impressive.

He and his buddy were too busy giving each other high-fives after old poster child was interviewed by the fox news station.

I realize that LT and Greg Byrne are polar opposites in all measurable attributes, but 5 years ago we were told that LT was "blown away" by how prepared Croom was. It was part of the national storyline that, after Alabama rejected him, Croom started working on "the plan" and that preparedness was what put him over the top with LT.

Ultimately, that preparedness didn't get us over the hump. I hope Mullen is successful, I REALLY do, but I am a little worried that some of the same lines we were fed 5 years ago are being circulated again. Minor warning lights are going off. I'm trying to ignore them though.

Apparently Croom's plan included 3 years of "cleaning up the program," during which Croom would have no accountability, and 5 -7 years before we would be competitive. That's not what I was hearing from Byrne and Mullen this time.</p>

Croom's best year offensively was his first year. So, that discredits that we were getting better throughout his tenure. He got lucky last year...Thats all there is to it.
