for the main reason that it would hurt his chances for the real position he would take--Florida. He has got to know that Urban Mayer does not appear healthy and can "take a year off" at any time. Going to the U would be like us hiring the Ole Miss coach: they have recruited against each other, told lies against each other and know too many dirty tricks used in recruiting. The alumni base would not stand for it.
When/if he leaves, it won't be for a mid level ACC job that had its glory years in the last century. Both Minnesota and Army won championships years back as well, and just like them, Miami can only look back at past glories.
