Boy, life can become difficult with a 2 year old....the DSR must/MUST be a Wednesday thread...if not, how can I hijack feeto's friday upset thread on thurs...
Note the following...not a lot of changes, but maybe some telling ones; further, what i always look for in our rankings is 1, are there tiers? and 2, how tight is the grouping. This week, the grouping, relatively, got significantly tighter. Some times, in these hard to rank weeks, they spread out. I think this means the Panel is very confident about the nucleus of the teams involved. A few more comments at the end...and as always, I'll let panel members defend their own outliers.
8.50 - Flyer: Accidentally left these dudes out of the first draft....dare I say i forgot about them as they are south of interstate 80...my bad flyer. I think we all wanted to see Flyer beat up on a down edwardsville a little more this week.
8.25 - HF: The vikings' PF/PA is 154/27. That's good enough for them to jump previously ranked flyer, who had a somewhat disappointing win vs a now 0-3 Edwardsville. HF now steps into the game of the week and faces the Brook. Brook's PF/PA is 115/37. It's never easy to win at HF with their sell out crowds and loud *** music. A solid win for either team bolts them into the top 5? I think so.
7.67 - LA: Last week LA averaged an 8.33 from the Panel and got a nice boost forward with an impressive win vs MC. If LA continues to roll that way, at some point, in a poll, you have to recognize the Phillips loss as a potential text book upset, where for some reason, the better team lost. For me, LA has hit that stride, but it's understandable that others do not see it that way...yet. Let's see what happens in the Blue.
6.92 - LZ: You really cannot hate on a flat 7.00 ranking for LZ. It's an outstanding ranking. That said, the DSR lost some faith in LZ, despite a blowout win last week against waukegan. A lot of LZ's DS rank will be based on their D...if they keep shutting teams down, and if Bronco proves to be a solid win. Bronco's win over fenwick is a start.
6.75 - Phillips: The bottom line is simple, the DS Panel wanted to see more from Phillips against their last real competition in Simeon. THis will be an interesting rank to follow. Do they continue to fall with LA's rise or do they start to gain as does LA...it's a DS quandary for certain. The Darkside Panel presents - You make the call!
6.42 - Marist: Marist gets rewarded for a shut out 27-0 win vs benet. I think the boost comes from the DS wanting to see Marist;s strength, its defense, dominate a game. We just saw it. Marist gets a tougher challenge this week in MCC, a team known to pull off some crazy upsets. Who remembers the night a few years back when on edgytimleaks.org it came out that MCC was joining the escc....yep, that was a funny night.
5.58 - PR: At first blush, you see PR scored 56 points this week and you are like damn, the offense is back. Then you learn their opponent gave up 37 points to Grant...and you wonder...The board still likes PR. But interesting things are a foot...Naz, Brook, and a few others are about to burst onto the scene...ESL wants back in, what about CG? Barrington, the most overlooked DS team...PR needs to dominate games.
4.0 - NC: A square number after several square wins. NC's given up 28 points this season and the 116 PF through three games aint too shabby. One more week to prepare for Ohio State. I think all of us outside the DVC need to put our NC hats on and start rooting for them to rep. So far...so good. Go redhawk.
3.83 - MS: Damn, NC is creeping in on MSwag. The reason is simple. MS's defense has given up 34, 26, and 14 respectively. As they fall into conference play, they needs some of those old time shutouts to stay ahead of NC...especially with one loss on the record already.
1.00 - lwBeast - Two consecutive weeks at the top spot...HF and brook left to play. They'll hack it or pack it.

While we've had plenty of teams stay at 1 for a few weeks straight, the gap between LWE and others is frankly unprecedented. It might be because LWE beat the team behind them, can't say we have faced that dilemma this early before.
Gooms did not rank Naz....gooms? Naz guys?
All love...sorry for the delay yall.
