Watters was criminally under-seeded. I love watching guys who run that Gene Mills half/crab ride series. He's a pinner.

Other than watch PSU win more National Championships while simultaneously seeing Iowa fall further into irrelevance?

No.
Trolling give you joy, got it. If that's a high point in your day, maybe not be such a miserable POS? Or keep doing what you excel at.

They have actually scrambled VERY well the entire tournament. In fact, this has probably been the best scrambling as a group that I have seen from a Brands team and that and not getting all their guys to March healthy has been my 2 biggest knocks on them...
I won’t disagree, but saying this is the best scrambling team Iowa has had is a low bar historically speaking.

I think as a coach you can improve a wrestlers feel while scrambling but I think that’s one thing you either get or don’t get. As a wrestler you likely know that “feel” is innate and not necessarily learned. There is a ceiling for someone that doesn’t have that natural ability.

you hear wrestle through positions a lot, but I think several Iowa wrestlers over the years want to scramble for a stall and not to score. There are exceptions but that’s the predominant trend for Iowa.

The talent in this years freshman class from 125-157 and 184 is really impressive to me. They are scary good already and savy well beyond their age. Going to be some wars in the future years. Your recruits better be studs because they will be stepping into absolutely loaded brackets for the next 3 years.

Antrell Taylor is so ******** boring
Classic Penn State style. Hard head slaps/open hand punches, body blocks, survive TD attempt after TD attempt, body block and head slap some more.....then stall ride to get that RT point, and have the athletic ability to escape when you're down to keep the RT advantage and go back to body blocking and head slapping to stall out for the win.

Earns you a #1-#2 rank in 2026 and everyone in that wrestler's fanbase (and the media) sucking his c*** about how great he is and how tough it is to score on him.

That's what is elite in college wrestling for 2026 if you're not a roided up pin monster for Penn State...................😃

What are those specific issues? They have been wrestling very well in all positions throughout the entire tournament. The ONLY issue I see is that some other teams have some TRULY elite wrestlers.

Again, the 3 guys they lost to are a combined 66-1. The guy Blaze lost to just DESTROYED the defending NCAA Champ.

The ONLY thing I see is they aren't consistently getting the Forrest level guys since Lee, and losing Bassett really cost them that. The deficiency isn't how they guys have been wrestling, they are simply losing to more talented, ELITE wrestlers.
It isn't just this year. It's the same theme every year. We hardly ever pull out a win in a big time match we are not clear favorites in and there have been many times we are considered the favorite even owning a previous win in the matchup that we then lose.

Messinbrink running his mouth and talking sh*t after winning by decision against an opponent that almost got carried out on a stretcher is, well, wild. He's something else and truly unlikeable.
He's mad that the UNC wrestler didn't follow the script and lay down for bonus points.

Harper came closer multiple times to getting a takedown than Messenbrink ever did.
