If true, I did not see that comin... and my mind is forcing me to consider there's more ro this story and this isn't the period, but rather a comma..
Rivals posted it, so I’m led to believe it is at the moment. I did not see this happening either. He wouldn’t be my choice of a QB recruit personally, but he’s been our longest tenured recruit and another legacy player. Now I have so many questions about ‘what does this mean’ and curious if there’s anything between the lines with this decommitment.

This right here. Wondering the same.

Absolutely no disrespect here, but I truly don't believe we even consider him without him being Dylan's younger brother and being a legacy player. He is at a powerhouse program in a powerhouse state and is closer to being a 2-star recruit than a 4-star recruit.

It will be interesting to see what Rhule and the Raiola family have to say on this. Pot stirring is going to hit overdrive now.
The speculation, the questions, the running down the rabbit holes on theories of why will keep me entertained today lol

There’s a kid playing 8 man football in Nebraska that commited to Northwestern that I’d think is a better athlete and maybe has a WAY higher ceiling.
But anyway I’m all “what does this mean, I’m so worried, etc etc etc”
College football is pretty much 1 year deals anymore…. So getting attached to certain players or recruits seems pretty pointless.

This makes sense. I think Rhule is very honest with recruits. Maybe Dayton didn't like what he heard about how they see him in comparison to Taylor.
Will we try to fill his spot with a high schooler? NFL model=Starter, backup, and developmental practice squad guy who only plays in a dire emergency

The Raiola's have always placed their kids in the best place to start and show off... just look at at all the moves Dylan had thorough HS & his Commitments. With Dylan, TJ and Trae coming shortly I think there just isn't a spot where he can shine. I'm sure lengthy discussions with the family, Dylan included directed him to the same conclusion... Hopefully he can go somewhere and have a Great career...

Sign him up. Need an athletic guy who might not mind riding pine for 3-4 years with the promise of unlimited chicks and a shot at playing some day.

Same... They catch a lot of Crap unfortunately, the Ol Man has been instrumental in pushing Nebraska forward for a long time... They have a Love for this school that's for sure. That said, Any good parent will do what's best for their kids and in this case DONU just isn't in the plans for him... I wish the whole family well...

Perhaps some of Dayton’s NIL bag was reassigned to TJ. Perhaps Dayton realizes with the emergence of TJ, his chances of becoming the starter at some point aren’t very good.

What is clear is that we must keep TJ now, and hopefully Dylan too. But if we upgrade our OL coach, and little bro isn’t coming, maybe Dylan doesn’t want to stay.

I will add that this does open up a critical spot for 26 in what's going to be a small class that can be used on some Meat in the trenches... Obviously can't get enough of those guys

Hopefully this was a case where he saw 3 guys currently on the roster (including Dylan) that he would be behind - the other two being Lateef and Davila. Trae Taylor coming next year is another guy that is noticeably more highly regarded. So it is reasonable that Dayton realized that his chances of playing were better elsewhere.

Hopefully this means our OLine coach is in line for a big promotion to a front office position....
