Gotta assume Donnie will be fired soon or not retained

who fills that Job? we know Matt likes people he’s worked with before but looking at his old O-Line coaches I don’t think they’d be hired.

Pat Meyer was his guy in CAR- he’s a nfl guy. Not likely to come to college

James Campen was his guy the year Rhule was fired in 22. He appears to be out of work.

Shawn Bell was his guy at Baylor but he’s moved over to QBs since. Seems to have a desire for OC, so he likely wouldn’t want to be OL

chris wiesehan was his guy at Temple. Rhule didn’t bring him to Baylor so that tells me something and wiesehan at Eastern Michigan. Don’t think he’s a big time coach

Matt’s having his best success with staff @ NU on Offense with guys he hasn’t worked with. Hope he continues that

You know teams are coming after him. This will be true test of Rhule and his staff keeping TJ in Lincoln. I think the UCLA game was enough, but if he plays really well in the next two games his recruitment by other teams will explode beyond belief.
This will be the case and many on this site will freak out when it begins, they are silent now but just wait.

Have you watched ANY college football and seen any backups? Good heavens. TJ’s performance was probably the best performance by a backup on a P4 team all year. Hell it was better than many of the starters I’ve watched. Dayton could undoubtedly find a solid P4 program where at worst he would be a #2.
You know he played UCLA correct? He made 3 passes over 15 yards. I would t put him in the HOF just yet lol.

Of the passes he made, all but two were caught and one of those was a very catchable ball. They put together a game plan he could manage and he managed it better than what should be expected of a true freshman.
Pretty sure that guy is an Iowa fan. They took one of the more dynamic players in FCS, brought him to Iowa, and now he looks like Tim Tebow with the Broncos.

1. I'm happy with the de-commit; it appeared to be a charity offer
2. It wouldn't bother me if Uncle Donnie was not retained
3. It wouldn't surprise me if DR left; his injury won't scare off teams
4. This could turn into the butterfly effect
5. None of us know anything beyond the de-commit

I wonder if we could entice ND’s OL coach to come here. He was also Wisconsin’s OL coach from 2015-21.

Probably too late for that.
Who knows but somethings up, you probably still have to have a QB in the 2026 class one would think. I just think it has to be the right type QB and obviously Dayton doesn't fit that type going forward.

I guess I do not see this sign as doom and gloom. 3* QB that has a QB in the class in front of him and in the class behind him getting more hype. When Taulia Tagavailoa transferred after his FR season, the sky was not falling at Alabama. Dayton is a 3* with competing offers that are not on par with Nebraska. I would rather Dayton go somewhere that he is more comfortable now and get playing time than eat a scholarship for a few years and never see the field. Fernando Mendoza committed to Yale and then Cal before becoming a Heisman candidate. Diego Pavia played for NMMI and then New Mexico State before blowing the doors off this year. We don't know where any QB will be in 3 years.

This is not proof Dylan is leaving. This is not proof Donnie is leaving.

I think it’s likely a sign that Dylan is transferring next season. Didn’t he attend 4 different higb schools?

I think this is the case, I wonder if he's a lefty, you would need a good right tackle instead for his blind side. maybe right tackles are easier to find. idk I did'nt play football, just wrestling

I'd do cart wheels if it was Callahan. Exercising demons aside, there is no doubting that man's ability to coach an o-line.

That said, im not sure his attitude really jives with Rhules culture. Eh, then again I dont really know the man. Maybe it does. He does seem somewhat similar to Dana (old Dana, not young Dana). So maybe...

What about Holgerson’s OL coaches?
