I think you are an honorable person. You had a storied career as an athlete at UofL. Please do the honorable thing and meet with Josh Heird to find an acceptable buyout. The longer you stay in this position, which you are not competent to have, only diminishes the legacy you have. Many people have taken jobs that they soon find they don’t have the skills to handle the position. Admit the truth and move forward.

It's not going to happen. He has to be fired even if it means Danny Manning is named the interim coach. KP is going to milk every penny he can get. He has to after all, have something to show for these two seasons of hell.
I hope that isn’t the case. If so then he is a charlatan and will have taken a big dump on his legacy and on the legacy of the people that helped build this program.
As said in other thread. He made millions before taking this job. Sadly I think he just believed he could do the job. Going to be interesting to see what happens.
The guy is completely oblivious. He thinks whole problem is the players not doing what he says. His presser is vomit worthy..
His lack of personal accountability is really troubling. I can’t imagine letting this many people down.
I said it in another post he is incredibly arrogant when it comes to basketball. Not a good trait for a 1st time head coach.

Unfortunately, we’ve all seen this horrible movie before. Bad acting and doesn’t end well.
I did watch or even listen to the game last night but I did listen to Pain’s post game comments. The problem is clear. Whenever he was asked about an issue Pain’s response was something to the effect of “We tell them…we talked about that, we told them…”.
I retired from a State University were I was a training manager and curriculum developer. Our #1 tenant was “Telling is not teaching”. Especially when you’re teaching skills.

I never listen to Payne. Why am I interested in what he has to say? Why waste my time?
The guy thinks he can coach, and for that reason, he’s not making his own exit plans. That will have to come from the people who can fire him, the people who hired him, the people who have systematically dismantled this basketball program…

I mean what kind of legacy is he taking a dump on ? He averaged like 5 points a game on the championship team.. Not like we're talking about Pervis, Billy Thompson, Griff, Rodney, Derrick Smith, Russ, Or Siva.
Won a championship. First round pick out of UofL. Direct ties to the most influential coach in UofL sports history. And only former Coach Crum player coaching at D1 level.
That's a real stretch. He may be employed by a D 1 school but he's not doing any coaching..
