Dear Jeff Lebby, Let me explain what should have happened...

The way it should have ended. After Shapen does a good job of getting back to the line of scrimmage on first down you let the clock run and Napier should call a timeout. If he doesn't, let it get down to 3 seconds and call your final timeout then kick the Field Goal. If he does call the timeout, That would be his first of 3. You Then run the ball on second down and Napier will call his second timeout. You now center the ball with a run and Napier will call his final timeout with maybe 10 seconds to go. Now you make the Field Goal attempt and win or lose the game there. If you make it, Napier gets the ball back with no timeouts and under 10 seconds. That's what anybody who has watched football would have done.

Use this as a learning experience. I just wanted to explain to you why everyone is so mad.

I’m not gonna sit here and act like Lebby is irredeemable and will never be good. I could see Lebby going on to have success, but I don’t think it’ll be here. And I think too much has happened and he will never have the full support of the fanbase. I know he won’t be fired and maybe he shouldn’t be, but it’s just delaying the inevitable. The football program is never going to recover under Lebby.

yeah, i'm upset but i don't agree with this at all. he seems to be a coach the players play hard for and a couple more wins this year and 95% will forget. it is a loss that shouldn't have been but not a loss that makes ME feel that he can't have the full support of the fanbase. in fact i can't think of a coach that actually did.

They play hard but lose… so what good does that do? He’s just not a good coach, at least not now. We will just have to agree to disagree on this.

Because i believe he can win and a few better players that will come to state can make a huge difference. if they start quitting on him then i might think differently, but for now i think they're a few winnable games left in the season and i'll wait till the end of the season and see where i'm at then.

Number One priority in that situation has to be DON'T TURN OVER THE FOOTBALL! We will never know if Lebby called the play or Shapen called an audible, in either case both would have been wrong especially since we are Miss'take. Unbelievable. RTGDFB.

A first year, straight out of college, JV coach knows what to do in that situation. I’m incredulous.

turned us into a competent team that pisses off the fans because we lost a winnable game. and i remember where we were last year and the year before. Arnett won 5 games but I never once felt like he was a good HC. Croom went to a Bowl game and WON, but he was inept. We have been in every game except 1 this year and most had us winning 3 max. I do not get the feeling we are as bad as what i've seen in the past and i believe he will upgrade some positions this offseason and keep improving. it certainly ain't the dumpster fire that was.

Arnett won more SEC games in less than a year than Lebby has Ever. I’d like to think your way, but we are a bad SEC team, real bad. And that’s on coaching. Our recruiting is sucking, coaching. Our portal hauls make up this bad team, coaching. He may be better one day, but I don’t see it this year. The common denominator is coaching. And we have 3 DC’s because his initial one was so bad. Coaching. Are we gonna have to hire two more for every other coach?

arnett would have gone 0-12 last year, every player worth their weight in salt left. they saw the writing on that wall.

He failed miserably by not upgrading at QB. Shapen has a 4+ year resume now. And it sucks.

The problem is that everyone over the age of 10 that has watched football knows this.

Exactly. Let's not forget that the HC is paid millions to make smart football decisions but he fails to do so. 4 straight QB runs is an example.

Lebney called the timeout to get a few more yards for the FG. He told the QB and WR 'logo". Which means run to the UF logo on the field and stop (our receiver ran past it btw).

Someone in the Florida coaching staff saw that "logo" being said. Told the NG.

That my friends is the $4M coach who post game said he LOVED the play call.

Florida knew the play call.

WTF? Napier wasn't calling any timeouts...UF had the lead. You don't make it easier for MSU to gather itself and kick a FG, or call a GOOD play. You sound dumber than Lebby.

The only way Napier calls a timeout is if Lebby saves HIS timeout to set up the FG and Napier wants to ice Ferrie.

With that much time still on the clock, I'm okay with trying to get the TD rather than rely on the kicker. I don't care how good the kicker may be. But you have to be in the QB's ear about ball control and just throwing it away if nothing is there.

Once he panicked and burned his timeout, conventional wisdom would be running one play to position the ball wherever Ferrie wants it, letting time run before spiking the ball, then attempting the FG.

Honestly, I don't mind going against conventional wisdom there and trying to score....but that play call sucked.

While I disagree with the play call, Lebby didn't throw it straight to a 300lb DT. I would've run it, spiked it and kicked the FG.

Lebby is doing a good job. He inherited zero players and zero NIL support. He will never have the NIL necessary to win big and neither will the next coach. Be competitive is what we can hope for. Now get to the Texas game that is at home and winnable

I fully expect him to review the KY game tape and have us run it 4 times on a game winning TD only to be stopped by UT
