Doug Buckles family was huge State fans. Stewart Patridge's family was big State fans. yadda yadda yadda.
Tyler Russell deserved the MVP for his game last night. However, if you had a runner-up, it had to be Hamp Glover. He was getting first downs on offense, making big tackles on defense. One of the best plays I saw him make was a catch he DIDN'T make. Glover runs a "go" route. Russell heaves it up, right to the D-Back. Glover was able to get his hand on the ball and keep the D-back from making an interception.
Glover is the kind of go-to guy every team needs to complement the star players. Whether he'd make a good possession receiver, a good H-back, or maybe a rover or bandit on defense. I also heard he's done well enough on his school that he might attend Yale.
You need smart guys like this at State, if for no other reason than to raise the GPA of the football team. It'd be a shame if the Rebs or the Bammers stole him away from us.
