Debate......Jackson, Walker or Dupree..........

Bo Jackson, Hershel Walker and Marcus Dupree all came out of high schools in 3 different southern states ( Al, GA and Miss) within 4 years of each other 30years ago...IMO I don't think there has been another player with their GOD-given talents SINCE. Really weird ( in the age of 'early high school weight lifting'/'steriods'/'weight gaining supplements", etc) that no running back out of high school has had the strength/speed/weight that those 3 guys had.This topic might have been discussed before but the ESPN specials on Walker and Dupree have reopened memories of how dominant physically those guys were in high school and college.

Can anyone name a back since that time that could compare to these three athletically and physically? Maybe Eric Dickerson but there's not many. I know he never lived up to the billing due to an injury but David Fair was as big as these guys and just as fast. Tragic ending to his career.

There have been a number of others. Eddie George was a pretty frightening back. Adrian Peterson. Barry Sanders had tremendous talent. So did Marshall Faulk and LaDanian Tomlinson.

It is worth noting that not one of the three guys you mention will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Shifty runners who could hit a hole and make people miss, and could catch passes out of the backfield. Walter Payton started this trend, and continues today with LaDainian Tomlinson and Peterson. Stephen Jackson is the closest thing to a fast, strongRunning Back in that mode. Now,Players with Walker/Dupree/Jacksonskills are either rush linebackers or Pass-catching Tight Ends.
