What? Didn't he sign in the fall of 2007? Where else would he go if Jamont decided to come back?ScoobaDawg wrote:

I'm not sure why I'm replying to this, but here goes...ScoobaDawg said:Jamont would NOT play the 2 guard no matter what.
He would want to control the ball and run the offense through him as it had since he stepped on campus his freshmen year.
Seriously..you think if he came back for his senior year he is going to give up the ball with it being his last chance to show boat for scouts.
The team is now a team because he is gone, if he was still around this team would be nowhere near as good as it is.
Jamont could drive the lane because Charles and Jarvis were clearing the lane, we do not have that ability this year...thus why we do not have a great inside game.
Also Dee Bost would NOT be here if Jamont was still here.
Uhh, is this a bad thing?ScoobaDawg said:Jamont scored more becausse he was a linebacker playing pg and noone could stop him in the lane when he got into it.
Yes, that is the normal mode of operation when a player does something a coach doesn't want him to do.he did what he wanted to, what was rick going to do bench him?
...that has had a better stat line than 25 points, 7 assists, and 0 turnovers. I know Curry has had huge scoring games, and good assist games, but any 0 turnover games?ScoobaDawg said:I knew one player said they wouldn't of been here if jamont was still here and turns out it was twany who signed late. Not Dee
But are you really comparing Dee (a freshman) to jamont (the junior) and saying they are about the same player in stats? that proves just how great dee is as a PG as a freshman and the upside he has.
Jamont scored more becausse he was a linebacker playing pg and noone could stop him in the lane when he got into it. As I said earlier, it was easier for him to go in the lane with charles and jarvis opening the lane up
and not allowing the defense to crash hard on the only post player we have this season (jarvis). that would not be happening this year.
Anyone that really knows anything about the team, knows the relief that jamont is gone this season..with the team and the staff.
As people thought, Stans never had control of the offense while jamont was around.. he did what he wanted to, what was rick going to do bench him?
The offense did run through Jamont, and jamont was the offense. If you watched any games last season you saw the "stand around and watch jamont" offense.
Yep. Its as simple as that. A coach is the leader of the team, and he calls the shots. the PG is the floor leader and helps set the coach's plans into action.ScoobaDawg said:Anyone that really knows anything about the team, knows the relief that jamont is gone this season..with the team and the staff.

...I like your quotes! ;-)ScoobaDawg said:Why ya quoting me?
Im in agreement that Dee is a great player.
Dee is not the offensive weapon Jamont is because they are entirely different kind of players.
Dee is a true pass-first PG, who can also shoot the 3 consistently (shooting at .351 overall and .375 in conference) averaging 10.5ppg
Jamont was the best athlete on the team who we ran the offense through, and averaged 17.2 ppg jr year
Jamont controlled the ball and took 24% of all our shot attempts last season and was hardly ever considered a 3pt threat shooting at a .312 clip
Dee has come a long way since the season began and is truly showing how talented he can be in the future.
It will be interesting to see next year if we go back to a "Big" lineup next season if he is able to develop a more attacking stlye to open up the inside-outside game.
A quick look to see how he played in the big lineup in limited time (9 games when Kodi was starting) he was hitting 3's at .380 and fg's at .320
