just saying that he thought he was going pro and that he didn't find out until after the May 8 deadline that he was not going to be drafted nor was he going to be able to play anywhere overseas. Nobody is going to buy this story he is selling.

because anyone going back and checking what was being reported about Bost's situation back around the May 8th timeline will come to the conclusion that everything indicates he made an informed decision to stay in at the time and is not being truthful now about not knowing then. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse but its even less of an excuse when you weren't igorant in the first place.

If Mini Jerrell here is to be believed [that he "didn't know about the NCAA's new withdrawal deadline], then does that not cause all sorts of questions as to why he would not know? How the F would the coaching staff let that happen?

Either this selfish prick idiot is lying, or our coaching staff has a lot of explaining to do.

I personally think he's a f'n piece of **** liar. Ravern "knew" the deadline.

it's pretty obvious he had no intention of coming back. Veazey covered it pretty well during that time...he got some news he didnt want to hear shortly after the deadline, and now he is scrambling...

We are just trying to give it a shot because he makes us a better team should he get eligible- we got nothing to lose by trying

While trying to rescue his own stupid ***, he's making the coaching staff look like f'n retards. Does anybody think this coaching staff needs Dee Minus's help looking like f'n retards?

Sometimes I absolutely hate this basketball program.

about it - if the NCAA is for the student-athlete as they are supposed to be (which they aren't) - there really is no reason he should not be allowed back even though he was an idiot about it. This is assuming that nothing illegal (i.e. agent) occurred. He messed up but should be allowed to come back.

he'll most likely be suspended for a few games.

But there's no reason for the NCAA to let him come back, other than just being nice. So his playing days in the NCAA are over.

the other side of that is the NCAA has rules, and those rules must be abided by. It's hard for me to see them instituting this rule, Bost breaks it immediately, and then they say-"no biggie, go ahead and come back and play"....

History says the NCAA doesnt work that way

I has a crayon?

Maybe they'll tell him he can go back to school, on scholly, but he can't play. That would satisfy your student concerns.

outside shot at leniency for Dee. But given they are only very begrudgingly letting Sidney play at all at MSU there is absolutely no way I can see the NCAA giving Bost a break on this to allow him to come back and play with Sidney.

for public intoxication. The NCAA should suspend him for a couple of games, but they should let him come back. He is still an amateur, the rule is stupid, and he withdrew long before the draft.

Dee Bost made his own bed and he's going to have to live with it. Even as an MSU fan, I can't bring myself to feel any sympathy for him at all. He's just a dubmass 17-up.

Sorry, I didn't know taking cash was wrong! I didn't know I couldn't sign with an agent! I didn't know I had to go to the school I sign my LOI with!

It's a new rulethis year and the NCAA's date to withdraw from the draft is a month before the NBA's deadline to withdraw. They need to have a uniform withdrawal date from the draft, that way there would be no confusion. Either way Bost is a dumbass and so is our coaching staff.

You aren't calling the rule stupid and saying he should only get suspended for a few games and be able to come back.

Im buying in bulk.

Do you honestly think our coaching staff had anything to do with Bost 17-ing this up?Did they somehow tell Ravern the deadline but not tell Dee?

and that it will be changed within the next couple of years. The NCAA deadline needs to sync up with the NBA deadline and a couple of weeks is notenough time to attend the pre-draft camps and work outs.

Regardless, the rule being stupid isn't a good enough reason alone to give Bost a pass. But taking everything in consideration, ending Bost'sor White's or anyone'scollege career for being stupid doesn't fit the crime. If you want tomake it an MSU/OM thing then go ahead.

take the time between the opt-out date and the draft, the number of college games left he's eligible for, and figure how many games is the prorated penalty.

I just don't see how he could get the death penalty without having recieved any benefit, while others have recieved thousands and get a few games.

Is there any precedent for this at all?
