Once you get to THE END you don't get another ending. Nice try. We wouldn't have lost by as much with Tommy in the game.
There are infinite ENDS at this point. You can't say that any one END is THE END.

And anyway, 'pulling away' for 35 points would have required a few 10 minute drives by TA4, which wasn't really his forte. Especially against tough defenses.

You said football, dumbass.
Stop acting like youre a chick, its wierd. Why someone would want to be wierd is beyond me.
I never said football. It's completely obvious I'm talking volleyball. You would figure people from Nebraska wouldn't confuse the two.

And you're a man pretending to be a woman on a message board. You would figure someone from Tulsa wouldn't confuse the two.
Whatev. This could thread actually could have been about defense if you wouldn't have taken it off track.

When Armstrong was hurt it was third down - we then punted OSU scored again and was up 31-3 so its not exactly that were not getting killed with him in there

hmm, this thread has taken a few twists and turns.

Defense wins championships - if that is true, you have to ask if we have enough horses to get through the season.

Paying assistant coaches a pile of money, while noble, really only accomplishes spending some money. I see college football as three seasons: 1. Recruiting, 2. conditioning and development, and 3. the games. You have to win at all three to be successful. That's what I will be looking for.

I am in the group looking for improvement on D, but not expecting miracles. I don't know if he has all of his pieces in place to run what he wants to run - see # 1. To me, that is why these coaching changes take time and I don't get too worked up about things - going ga ga doesn't make the team better or how I "feel" doesn't affect the team. You had MR come in and change things up with his ideas and pro style O and he is still putting the pieces together and now you have a new D coming in so they need to put the pieces together.

Should be a fun and interesting year - much like this thread! RollingLaugh

It was third down when he was hurt...but that was after he ran for the first down and got us in FG range. His run got us to the 24 yard line...would we have scored had he not got hurt? Maybe...best case we were still down two touchdowns. We then went on to try and pass for the first down on 4th and 1 and it ended up failing. OSU then down the field to make it 31-3. We wouldn't have lost by 59 points...but we were going to get ***** slapped with or without Tommy at that point. And we certainly were not going to hold OSU to "like" 35 points like Boxes previously claimed. Ohio St could have named their score one way or the other on that night.

I'm much more of a passive observer on this board than an active poster, but I'm going to make a request to you. Can you please stop this?

I actually enjoyed some of your posts under your Tulsa Tom screen name, but you have just taken this way too far. I appreciate funny trolling and witty comments, but this is neither. It is just obnoxious and annoying.

Can you please just stop the charade?

I truly believe Nebraska moved to the 3-4 because Mike Riley knew his personnel would be best utilized out of the 3-4.
man I hope Diaco can get these guys flying to the ball and knocking some *** on the ground !!!!
Freedom, Carlos Davis, Weber, and Dedrick Young will all benefit from the position change.

Recruiting - it seems the staff is trying to take a step up there.
Conditioning/Development - Coaches can obviously help, but internal motivation of the players is key, especially in the offseason. The Pelini hangover has waned, and I think some players are stepping up.
Games - Are we ready to take advantage of the bounces that come our way and negate the ones that don't?

While I know offense is the thing most all talk about and post about. In my mind as long as the offense is serviceable I don't care.

I am excited about the defense. The move by Riley to fire his buddy Banker and then to spend whatever was needed to hire the best D.C. Available could be a turning point for this program. No coach over the last twenty years has had the cahones to do this at NU and it gives me hope. Especially since our schemes will be updated and modernized.

We may not have all the exact player skill sets needed this year but I expect improvement and when I say improvement I expect our defense to keep us in every game. I expect no 63 point disasters or running backs going for 400 yards in three quarters. I expect to see some grit from these guys and not roll over the first time something bad happens and I expect this defense to be better at the end of the year from the first of the year. And last I expect this defense not to get manhandled by Iowa

Is that too much to ask for from a one million dollar assistant coach?

Sounds reasonable to me!
