Probably the best we’d be able to get to replace Budd Clark. Quick and aggressive, can get to the rim and line, great FT shooter, will take 3’s but can’t make them (lol).
I posted his mixtape on another thread here. It was impressive as most are. But then I saw his stats and thought volume shooter. But as I posted on the Trove Holloway loves the kid and now maybe despite his stats we know why.

Until the visit I had never heard of him. He has a scorers mentality from the mixtape I saw and his stats indicate that he doesn't take high quality shots.

As I always say, “Anytime you can get a point guard who averages as many turnovers as assists in the big south conference, you absolutely have to do whatever it takes.”
This is the 3rd time Shaheen has recruited him.

He’s definitely not a point guard, more of a combo guard with the hopes of becoming a lead guard. Altho I’d take him over Parker in a heartbeat.
If he’s not a PG like you said, then he’s not a combo guard. You can’t just say everybody is a combo guard because they dribble and pass the ball when they’re stuck. There’s more to it then that.
He fits the Holloway mold of having played a lot of minutes, including major conference minutes. Can also handle a ton of usage and was productive on high usage against the HM teams that Radford played. Decent assist rate. Seems like a reasonable Budd replacement.
UConn haa a tad more appeal than us. So I could see them closing on visit. And Hurley any day of the week over Pitino.
I didn’t realize he played almost 12 minutes per game as a freshman at Clemson. Seemed to do what so many of them do now - 4 star goes high major, plays a bit (or less) as a freshman, moves down a level, puts up some numbers, and now looks to get back to the high major territory.
He does fit the offseason model from last year compared to the prior year.

I love this. It’s just like tennis with insane rankings. Who and how did they determine he’s less desirable than the 623rd player or the 487th. So ridiculous.
Like so many did when the coaches were trying to re-up Clark, right?
I just posted facts about his play to date. Maybe Sha coaches him up like he did with Clark and Richmond. Or not, how he did with Staton-McCray, Williams, and Parker.

I do\n't think the concern is the act of criticizing the player...it is that the criticism is coming from the fan base (who almost assuredly has seen very little...if any of said player's games) of the team that is trying to convince him to come play there.

Wow McCray was slept on like crazy. Definite Big East player. Our best scoring option I think by far. Great call by Sha on that.
