Rats jumping ship.
Since Matthew Graves resigned in disgrace today, let’s just do a little recap of who this Biden appointed DOJ attorney is:
1. Graves worked in the same law firm as Harris’s husband, the one he left before Kamala was chosen by Biden for VP.
2. One of this first acts after being hired was to issue an arrest warrant for Steve Bannon.
3. He was previously a consultant for Biden’s campaign
4. He is remembered for going on national television and saying that he will use the full force of the DOJ to help prop up Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign by going after anyone who was standing outside the capital on 1/6.
5. IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley testified that Graves was the one who had finally authority in the Hunter Biden case and was the reason the statute of limitations lapsed on some of the charges.
“After U.S. Attorney for D.C. Matthew Graves, appointed by President Biden, refused to bring charges, I watched Mr. Weiss tell a room full of senior FBI and IRS investigators on October 7, 2022, that he was ‘not the deciding person on whether charges are filed,’” Shapley said.”
6. His wife visited the Biden White House 28 times since Biden took office. Graves visited the White House 10 times in 2023.
7. In 2023, DC police made 538 narcotics arrests but Graves only prosecuted 69 felony drug charges. In 2023 in DC, there was an increase of 35% in homicides and 67% in robberies. Despite those statistics Graves oversaw a drop in convictions of 36 %. Previously according to the DC Sentencing Commission courts oversaw an average of 1500+ felony convictions. In 2023, there were only 567 violent felony convictions, but Graves secured 476 convictions for J6.
MTG introduced articles of impeachment for him, but it went nowhere.
I am betting Graves will get a blanket prospective pardon.
