I had more than a few people argue with me that he can’t run the lead guard and those people know who they are. I should call each of them out one by one.
I’ve said since the beginning of the year if it’s not Lowe, it’s gotta be DA. Seems to be rounding into a solid 1. He’s great around the rim and in the mid range float spot. Think he’s starting to realize when he gets in those spots, a shot from him is gonna be better than any other we’d get in the possession.

Has brought the past couple games, seems to be playing under more control and has worked on his jumper. Good rotation and form, love the way he is playing right now. Seems to becoming a leader for us.
Agree completely TTT!
Not dribbling like his hair is on fire and then forcing up a contested shot
Thought he had no form on his shot but he does have good mechanics which is evident when he takes open shots
Knows he is the point guard now and seeing the court better.

I have stated in this forum several times this season that Denzel should be on the bench and get limited minutes. He is throwing those comments back in my face and I am happy to eat a big piece of humble pie.

I’ve always been high on him, there’s just something unique about his game to me. Hopefully they can figure out what to do in the first half because right now they are a mix between Heart Attack Cats and Comeback Cats.

I did not argue with you personally on this forum UK4, but did voice my opinion that he could not become a point guard. Denzel was imitating former Globetrotter Marques Haynes in earlier games with his dribbling act generally followed up by a forced shot. He now is finding his open teammates and taking the open shot. His defense has also improved lately.

Very happy for him today and the good games from Mo, Collin, and JJ. Everyone is contributing and our opponents cannot bank on slowing down OO and get an easy victory.

Absolutely! Love Aberdeen! I have all season! He’s been playing out of position all year basically. He’s a stud and I’ve said that since day one. He’s rounding into form at leading the team. JJ looked good today as well. Bring JJ in for DA off the bench. I think we can be better without Lowe, as long as these two guys keep developing and improving.

He is growing into the larger role. Early on, he was trying to do to much, forcing too many bad shots. Today, he was in total control, after he hit a couple of threes he started using the pump fake to get around guys and break down the defense. Looked like a star today.
I'm pleased with our guard play, even with the loss of Lowe. DA, Oweh, Chandler, Jasper, thats a pretty strong group

Jasper looked good today, so relaxed and smooth on his shot. We still have a deep team, even losing 2 players.
Damn I want Pope and this team to succeed, and shut us all up, when we're negative 😂

Tip of the cap from an old blue hair here. I like to see JJ and Aberdeen both fully realize the potential of the position they are thrust in. There's no reason to think both won't find a new dimension to contribute to the game and bring this team full circle. We still have enough good players to collectively get this team rolling.

we shall see.

Denzel Aberdeen was put in a tough situation and showing his championship experience on this Kentucky team taking over the PG spot. While his shooting has been incredible lately, 35 points in the 2nd half between LSU/Tennessee, he is making all of the right decisions with the ball in his hands, to balance scoring and distribute the ball. Takes care over the ball too. 1 TO in the last 2 games.
