I still think the future is bright.
The DBs need work but they are all young and talented. The D line and RBs are young and stacked too. The O line has nearly everyone coming back.
Several of you claim you are done with the program too so we are also unloading a bunch of fairies.

Did you watch the game? Wisky had freshmen and backups playing and pushed us all over the field. Our guys just aren't good enough.

Please, stop, I beg you.... STOP. Even Austen's INT was a horribly thrown pass by Stave. Kudos to him - he made the play - but can we please STOP because right now D is f*cking horrible and the O LITERALLY tripled its offensive output, today, on a pass to Agudosi that should have been broken up by the DB on our last offensive series of the game. How you can watch the PSU, OSU, and Wiscy games - with another dandy coming up in Ann Arbor next week - and think the future looks "bright" is beyond me right now.

** yes, I think Austin could end up being a very good one. COULD.

Blessuan Austin is going to be a stud.

This. Austin has become a hell of a player for being a true freshman. Kid's got great ball instincts.

If Flood could recruit 10-12 kids like Austin every year, we'd have a shot at being a good team. Solid 3* kid with an obvious upside.

We are going to be good, no question.

Yup. Once a new coaching staff has had time to put in their system, and recruit over the last 3 classes, we'll be a good team, no doubt! There just isn't a lot on the roster to work with right now, or a proper HC to work with them, but I'll hold out hope for the future!

It's interesting that it always seems it's next year that things are going to get better with this coaching staff at the helm.

The best thing that can happen for this team is for the current staff to be watching college football on Saturday afternoons in 2016 from the comfort of their living rooms.

It's from the same guys who think our D was going to be "a lot better" if we had all our DB's. Apparently they forget that our secondary stunk last year, too, so maybe our D would have been a "tad" better.

If Flood returns I'll be a happy fairy, I refuse to support his culture of loosing.

If you think the coach is the only thing holding us back, the next 10 years are going to be really tough for you.
never said its the only thing, but look around the college football landscape at the teams with new coaches that are doing great

This is a MESSAGE BOARD. It is to here have conversations - good, bad, or ugly - about the program that you (we) follow. If you don't like my posts, "ignore" me, I couldn't care less. That being said, WHEN there is something "positive" to say, absolutely, I'll be the first person to say so (as I did following the Indiana game...). This is NOT the "everything is okay, everything is okay" board.

BTW - why attack ME when plenty of others have negative things to say in this thread? 13 other posters, if my count is correct, are laughing at the OP, too, but you literally pick me out to attack? What a joke.

Nuts - my comment was about Austin. There was nothing from today that was positive.

...okay, what was wrong with THAT comment? I said he "could" be a very good one. We'll see, IMHO, the "jury" is still out, that's all, but yeah he's got the goods! Geeze! [cheers]

I agree but the only problems with claims like this is that we've been saying that could have been this year, but then we lose 3 of our 4 DBs, our best DL, our best WR/player, our best RB isn't as healthy as we hoped by now, and the wrong guy is playing QB.

It wasn't a great pass but any other cb in the team does not make that int. His length quickness and speed is phenomenal.

If by future you mean a future year, then yes, I agree with you. If future you mean the rest of this year, then no, I disagree. I honestly don't see us winning another game this year, Army is a toss up at this point.

We hear the same lame excuses and delusional optimism year after year after year. Too many gullible fans willing to accept mediocrity as far as the eye can see is the main reason our president feels no pressure to win and focuses instead on budget neutrality. THOSE fans are the problem.
