of some classic excuses athletes had given, and some were hilarious. Including, "it was the shampoo I drank."

As much as they do to "protect the shield," the NFL will try to bury this as a non-issue. They absolutely have a steroid problem, they're just better about covering it up than MLB.

I'd probably give Deuce the benefit of the doubt too, because he's not exactly known for playing outside of the rules. However, he has been injured a decent amount lately, so I wouldn't be too shocked if he was taking something to try to help with healing.

One of the reasons I'm jumping on the he was taking something wagon (well that and my theory). Not to mention, his career is getting along in years, he might be looking for the edge again.

Dieon Sanders volunteered a while back that he tested positive once and all the took were anti-inflam (not anabolic) steroids for an injury. With what Deuce has been through, my money is on him testing positive due to rehab drugs.

Yep, at first I was thinking, Deuce wouldn't be taking something illegal, but he's definitely old for a RB, and he's had enough injuries that I could definitely see it.

RB really is one of the toughest positions in the league to play. It's at least one of the most difficult to maintain a long career, mainly due to the punishment you take and due to how much of a difference it makes if you lose a tenth or two off your 40 time. You have a couple knee injuries, lose a half a step, and boom your career is over. That's what I've been seeing from Deuce lately. He's not the same back he was 5 years ago.

admit it's a problem. Atleast baseball acknowledged it and tried to do something about it. The NFL hasn't done jack.........

I think I have you beat. My favorite teams are MSU, New Orleans, and Oakland

Therefore, they couldn't have known it was in the pills they were taking.

They weren't taking diuretics directly.

Mortensen said on ESPN that if they can produce the substance, get it tested by the NFL, and the Bumex shows up but isn't on the label, they won't get suspended.
