mueller out for germany, if only they had gotten the spanish refs during the group stage he'd be playing. cesc possibly out through an injury picked up in training (bc they don't play him enough in a match to actually get hurt).

before the world cup you'd have taken spain in a heartbeat, three weeks later and it's a tossup. of course, i have to tip deutschland into the finals.

should be a good one. I like Bundesrepublik Deutschland to win though.

Pulling for the Oranje in the final.

Pretty impressive of Spain to score 45 minutes before the game starts.

Germany will probably win, but rooting for Spain. Vacationed there a few times and have seen Barcelona play at Camp Nou so I am hoping they win. If Torres can get on track and help with offense, they may have a chance.

in case anyone is confused, that's a prediction, not the score 20 minutes before kick off

Hopefully both teams will attack and not sit back and play conservatively.

Looks like Germany is saving their legs and letting Spain run so far. If Spain could do a better job passing they easily could have opened up several more opportunities at the goal.

Yeah. It looks to me like Germany is playing for a 1-0 game. They are playing smart, tight defense and really only counter attacking when it's wide open.

I thought that should have been a PK in extra time.

It was an interesting no call thats for sure. Germany got shafted on that possession. There has only been 3 shots so far at the goal. The pace of this game needs to be picked up.

// ETA: Correction 4 shots* in 49 minutes of play

There we go. Spain's confidence is growing with each time they get close to goal. Germany is pretty cool though and don't seem to be letting it bother them that much.

Germany's goalie is playing very well and Spain's errant passing continues to hurt them. So far though this has been much more exciting. I just wish Germany could mount something together. It is a surprise to me how Spain has not managed to put one in.

Spain finally breaks the ice. First goal Germany has given up in the second half so far.

That damn octopus might truly be psychic

Probably should be 2 or 3 to nil Spain's way, but.... Germans can strike quickly if they can get it out of their half

#18 (I think) would have had to go into hiding if Germany would have scored an equalizer at the end.

Absolutelyselfish of him not to pass that ball to Torres.

However,I'm looking forward to this final. Should be an awesome one.
