He was kicking 70 yards in practice... He has a powerful leg, just can't catch the snap...

Bell actually was recruited more as a punter than a kicker. He averaged over 40 yards per kick in High School.
I have no idea why he is kicking field goals, maybe you could ask Dan for us...

I agree. Kickoffs only... He might can punt and kick in practice, but he can't handle the pressure.
The exact opposite of what his High School Coach, Josh Morgan said.. Check out this gem...

"As far as pressure goes, he always handles pressure very well and thrives on pressure as good as anybody. His size and strength helps him out a lot and he works so hard in the weight room, too. I know Devon will do very good things for Mississippi State."
