I don't agree with your first part, unless you consider learning as studiying the conservative like you're Jane Fossi.
I honestly learned that the conservative ideology is much less rooted in Christian ideology than I thought. I think that's good for me to understand.

You want to really perplex your brain? I am among the most staunch Christians on this board. I am also among the most staunch libertarians as well.

I shut down trying to figure you out. Your viewpoints haven't helped me understand much of anything...yet at least. I am very well aware of there being Christians on the left, if that's what your implying.

Nope, not at all. Here's a quick rundown...

Fiscally I'm very conservative.
I'm a very bible believing right wing conservative. My faith guides my life in everything I do. My standards for myself and my family are incredibly high based on that faith. There are only two items that lend more politically to social conservative than liberal ideology, that I would impose on all:
  • Marriage should be conducted by churches not government, government should recognize civil unions.
  • Abortion should be outlawed.
Everything else, for the country, my opinion is do as you please as long you don't harm others. Christian morals cannot be imposed on others via law, and help me witness to you. It only makes you resent Christianity. Christianity isn't about keeping the law. It's about relationship.

I respect that. Don't know why Christians think they invented the whole marriage thing, but I respect all else.
