Field vision

Dicenzo had the vision to see the blocks and anticipate the hole opening up and just enough quickness to get through. And good cuts.
And a thing of beauty. I used to rewatch games on VHS and watch his runs in slow motion. It was an art …his vision, anticipation, cuts, and use of his lineman. He’d always get caught from behind though.

I remember the year bear played basketball, and thinking he looked so slow out on the court. There was no way he could play SEC basketball. It wasn’t noticeable (at least to me) on the football field. Guess his size made up for it because he didn’t have to outrun DBs

40 times are so overrated. I want football players, not track stars. Not saying speed isn’t important, it is. But there’s a lot more than speed that goes into being a good football player.
Yep because it’s straight line speed and doesn’t tell us anything about quickness, vision and cutting ability. Emmitt Smith did not have a good forty time, many high school backs have a faster forty.

He and AD might have had the most heart of any players of recent, other than Dak

Dude was fun to watch. He could dart to any opening and gain big yards. One of State's best backs.

If I recall, he was playing hurt his senior year and missed a few games. Ankle issues maybe? It’s been 24 years so the facts are fuzzy. Maybe that was still affecting him around draft time, I dunno.

He was my favorite player when I first became a State fan. Great pass catching RB in an era where that wasn’t as common. Good runner too. He and Dontae in 2000 was maybe the best backfield 1-2 punch we’ve ever had. I realize Dontae’s career went downhill after that, but that 2000 offense was a lot of fun.

The Michael Davis / Kevin Bouie backfield a few years prior to Dontae & Dicenzo was a 2-headed monster as well.

Hamstring I believe. Season opener against Memphis. The plan was to sit him out. At halftime we were losing 3-0 with probably 50 yards of offense. Zo came off the bench and put the team on his back with one good leg. Scored on a 50+ yard run. Led us to 30 2nd half points. As bad as 2001 was it would’ve been much worse without him. He was our offense that season….on one leg.
