Did anyone listen to the Gary Parrish show today? MSU/Memphis attendance...

Geoff Calkins was hosting and basically blasted State fans for only buying 4,000 of the 6,000 tickets that the school asked for. He couldn't believe that the expected attendance was only about 30K. He kept saying that he didn't blame Memphis fans. Basically he was blaming the away team for not selling out the Liberty Bowl. I bet the attendance will be more than 30K. What do yall think?
I know they need people to listen and call in but his reasoning was just dumb.

But he sounds like and idiot. Bulldog fans will out number the Tiger fans. Memphis should be embarrassed by that fact.

People are apparently reluctant to buy the tickets Memphis sends to MSU because:
1. Memphis sends end zonetickets when Memphis doesn't sell that well at home, so why buy those when you can buy better seatsfrom the Memphis ticket office.
2. Increased prices in comparison to other home games on the schedule.
3. Thursday night game means people have less of a chance to get away.

Exactly. and I'll add

4. Geoff Calkins is an absolute idiot.
5. Geoff should come out to the game Thursday where MSU will out number Memphis fans
6. Memphis is who should be embarrassed if there are only 30k and no one else.

and we haven't even entertained the idea of buying tickets beforehand. It's not worth spending $50 on a game ticket. If I can't find a ticket for $20 or less I will just go sit at a sports bar for the game then drive back to starvkille right after.

and Memphis will have about 10K. So 30-35K is about right. I really don't expect more than that.

I bet you would buy a ticket for $35 up there.

There's a good chance I'm going now, so I might have to fork over some serious dollars as well.

Here's the deal: Most people only get so many days off. It's hard to convince the boss that you need a Friday off one week; then two weeks later, you take another. Most people want to save the Friday three-day-weekend for the LSU game.

for himself.....2 or 3major roads feed into the area and you won't see a cop until you are approaching the gate. That alone (besides theirpiece of crap stadium ) is enough to discourage attendence

why not move the game to Sat Night @ MSU.

Just 'give' Memphis State ~ 10K tickets to the game.

Instant sell out ... and less travel for majority of attendees.

BOTTOM LINE-- Memphis 'needs' Mississippi State on their schedule way more than MSU needs Memphis
