He says the distribution of audio level around the stadium is still being tweaked. It was considerably louder in my section last week than previous weeks - but I'm not complaining.

At times, it is hard to understand what's being said on the thing. Music always sounds good, but the physics thing especially...too many echos and stuff to be legible. This isn't a volume issue. Its a sound engineering issue...echos from one place canceling with the direct shot to my ears. Maybe they can do a physics segment on that, LOL

but I had three older folks tell me that they aren't coming to the game this week because the Jumbotron. Said it was so loud that actually had to leave the game early. Now, I'm all for loud but these aren't folks who normally complain so I'm assuming something was really up last week. It must have been bad.

We received a fair amount of feedback regarding the sound system in the new video board. The interesting thing, however, was that some complaints were the sound was too loud, while others wrote that they could not hear. We will continue to work with our sound technicians to correct the issue.

I was in the West Side upper deck for that game, and it was considerably louder at the bottom of the section than where I was sitting (about 20 rows up). Like FlabLoser said, it's a sound engineering issue. Just needs tweaking.

probably has a lot to do with the acoustics of the section - it's covered, and walled in on the press box side and behind. i don't complain, but it's loud as hell and i know some of the blue hairs are not happy. i don't really see a way to fix it, though, so they should maybe try to move some of those people next year to equally good seats, maybe in 206 or elsewhere.

i have enjoyed our music for the most part. the sounds is great. my only beef is that sometimes they drown out the band. it is, after all, college football, and we could do a better job of coordinating the music and the band. i guess i have 2 beefs - i do not like the new PA guy. he seems just ordinary so far.

A lot of it seems to depend on where you are sitting in the stadium, as one might expect. I sit pretty close to the big screen and it is incredibly loud. I'll sound like a blue hair by saying it, but I'd prefer it not to be quite so skull shattering. However it seems to vary from place to place. With some areas getting rocked and others not being able to hear at all. So hopefully they get it all worked out so that the sound level is somewhat uniform throughout.

If you crank it up further for the student section then ear drums are going to burst at the other end of the field.

is that you don't have to listen to "that guy" who analyzes every single 17ing play and why it did or didn't work.

No, it wasn't. Just because they don't 'normally complain' doesn't mean they're right.

I almost left the game and I have worked rock concerts doing sound. East side upper deck bottom gets blasted. The sound needs to greatly be adjusted from the angle of speakers to the volume of individual speakers. That is why you adjust amps, and please tell me each speaker up there has its own amp. Additionally, we need more bottom and less top end and mids in the pa guys mic.

They didn't mention they had someone sitting in their lap. I think we established that the sound was vastly different depending on where you were. It really doesn't matter if they are right or not, they are the kind of people who pay the bills for our football program so if this any people are complaining that it was bad, and even Byrne said it was an issue, then I'm going to go with their opinion over yours.

sound production, I'm older than alot on this board, and I think the Zombie Nation, and Sandstorm stuff are both cool (not "sweet")

Overall, just turn it down, just a little...good job!

I'm on the east side upper deck, and it's almost deafening... I can tolerate the music at the volume it is, but those annoying advertisements make me sick. I understand a few of them, but when the TV is on Commercial it's like we go with them and it's LOUUUUD. I wish they'd let the band play through at least some of those, but they're completely drowned out in most cases.

Why isn't the band mic'ed to go through the thing. That way everyone can here what they were playing. That is an easy thing to do.
