I know the coaches have wanted to keep things close to the vest until the season starts, and we've heard that they are trying to work Alex Davis and Sedrick King in at one of the OLB positions. Today they listed Gifford, Young, Weber, and Newby as our starting LBs. Guess that means we moved Newby over to the other spot as we're comfortable with Gifford starting. I like the way that sounds as Newby has shown he can cover the TE in space. How he can rush the QB is another story, but I'm hoping he figures it out as he has the explosiveness you want.

I don't think that was the case. In all the videos they showed, Gifford and Newby were always side by side.
I lean to the side where Tom D just made a mistake. Maybe confused best 4 with starting 4 or something.
Not that it won't happen at some point, but if there was a move to be made I could see Gifford go to Boundary side and Newby would be Field side. My opinion.

I think their point was that those 4 guys were our "returning" starters as in guys that have started at least one game for us.
